Scrubbed. The MMT has decided that weather conditions are too unfavourable today. The countdown will hold for 24 hours and retarget for launch on Friday at 19:04 GMT (15:04 EDT).

God damn it!!!

Big let down, however under the circumstances it was expected... :(

60% chance for favourable conditions tomorrow is better than the 20% today, however I wont be holding out for a launch tomorrow... I think this will get scrubbed a few more times :(

Edit... I to would like to know the longest wait between original and launch dates... my google is failing me :p

What's the record for the longest wait between original planned launch and actual?

Edit... I to would like to know the longest wait between original and launch dates... my google is failing me :p

I'll give you two:

STS-103 (Discovery) had nine delays and scrubs, originally due for launch on 14/10/99 and went up on 19/12/99.

STS-35 Originally due for launch 16/05/90 and finally went up 2/12/90

Discovery waits on Launch Pad 39A:

The forecast for tomorrow still gives a 60% probability of favourable conditions for launch.

The MMT have given the GO to begin loading Discovery’s external tank. Tanking will begin at 09:38 GMT (05:38 EDT).

The forecast now gives a 70% probability of favourable conditions for launch.

The countdown has now resumed.

:)

Breaking News:

SCRUBBED. Launch has been postponed due to a leak in the hydrogen venting system between the launch pad and external fuel tank.

The leak is in Ground Umbilical Carrier Plate (GUCP).

It's happened before and will be at least a 48 hour postponement.
