Student loan...

BIT off topic, anybody got any idea when our student loans get paid into our accounts for the next semester? When in April? didnt feel the need to start a new thread so i thought id ask here...

i have lost my student loan sheet so dont know when the next payment is!

Thanks

Mine came in on friday, though my term dates are different to most. Think my flatmates get their's this or next week depending on LEA

all my mates had them on saturday, yours will probably come in a day or 2 either side of when you start back

thanks for the replies guys, if everybody has started getting paid then it should happen sometime this week hopefully...im in need of a cash injection :D

No, mate of mine gets a grant but didnt get it this year.

Oh well, can't blame a man for trying :(

The loan is pretty dire on placement ~£1,500...is it really worth bothering :o (Not taking the loan I may I add but just why would you, for a such little amount?)

Why not? The way student loans work you'd be daft not to. Plus it paid for my car insurance and a service.

Its 2k I think? I'm on placement this year and took non-income assessed maximum and I've had a little over 2k...

Is the debt that you accumulate go against you when it comes to say getting a mortgage on a house? I can understand getting the loan and putting it into an ISA but to spend it on insurance and car services, hmm...?

Nope, the debt doesn't count against you at all! :)

I've just started saving for my house deposit.. I too go on placement in a monthes time!

The interest accumulated on the loan is 2.4% a year, you can get up to 6.05% at the moment with a cash ISA. (Egg..)

Your never going to get a managed loan with such low interest rates ever again. Take it, put it in an ISA and save it for a deposit when your older!

You can also pay your loan off in a lump sum, but that's not advisable since you can make up to 4% more.
