Student protest today - spec me a sign

But it's still calling someone ignorant simply for knowing the same facts as you but coming to a different conclusion.

No its not, because my opinon is that they do not know all the facts or have looked beyond the surface of the proposal, and thus they are ignorant of those aspects in the full picture. Not that they are ignorant as in bigoted or rude, just that they do not know something.

It was not intended as an attack, but an observation.

Seems to me the majority of them don't even understand the proposals.

I'm a student and I'm quite honestly ashamed to be put in the same boat as these morons causing disruption and carnage.

Sorry for the misunderstanding but in the future you should probably be a bit more careful when describing people generally as you did because you are going to come across as labelling individuals a certain way.

I still think it's grossly unfair to say 'most' of the protestors are ignorent. The only word you can use fairly is 'some'.

It was just a general observation in reply to the observation that amigafan made regarding activists and future union activists. I was not saying anyone was ignorant, I was saying that they are ignorant of, as in they do not know, the full picture.

People like yourself aside, I think that this is generally true and that the protests are born out of those few with a genuine Ideology but are attended mainly by those who dont care about the cause so much as the infamy it gives them amongst their peer group.

Personally I think everyone should have free education, unfortunately funding is scarce
and I feel that this policy proposal is equitable considering the funding issues and the alternative of less places a available as teaching grants are cut and budgets are squeezed.

I'm not going to wade too deeply into the tuition fees debate, besides asking the following question:

(1) What makes you personally worthy of receiving my money?
(2) How much of my money should be taken and redistributed?

(1) I'm a lovely person and I'm special - my mummy says so.
(2) All of it, you'll only spend it on yourself otherwise.

Are you asking these questions seriously? It's (un)fortunately not up to you to decide whether someone is "worthy" of money raised through tax being spent on them.

Was just reading that conspiracy theory about the Police van, funny stuff. Dummy van or not, what does smashing it up have anything to do with a peaceful protest over student fees?
