Knee operation on the 8th (A week Saturday), going to be off work for about 2-3 months apparently (no driving, on crutches, housebound). I'm preparing myself by ordering as much stuff to keep me entertained/alive as possible before hand.

So far I've got:

PS3 + 25~ games
Tablet
Bunch of DVDs
Couple of books
TV + Virgin
Laptop
Whiskey

Can anyone else suggest anything that I'm clearly missing?

Watch through some great TV that you haven't yet seen. Maybe Battlestar or Stargate or something else which takes your fancy.

Given the amount of games being released in the next few months you picked a perfect time to be off! :D

Oh, and the Band of Brothers boxset is a must.

good grief ....... really, you need advice on how to entertain yourself?

No. However I'm pretty much being confined to my house for the next 2-3months from 8am-7pm when I won't have anyone else around (partner will be at work). Brilliant for the first few days, but I'll be struggling 6 weeks in to entertain myself.

Added.

I've got Fifa12 and Football Manager 2012 on pre order so hopefully they will help.

Build a few models or learn some electronics. You could build something like this:

Or one get your self a HAM license and build one of these:
