Ive been out of the scene for quite a while now but have just got a 2500k system which has a budget motherboard. It seems like a crime not to overclock the cpu a bit so I want to pick up a motherboard capable of a modest overclock id be happy with 4ghz tbh.

Im not too fussed about latest tech as long as itll work well with my CPU and the SSD drive I plan to buy im happy.

Should i wait for a couple of weeks for the Z68 discounts to start or plump for a Z77 from the off.

Any reccomendations on a motherboard that will meet my not at all fussy demands?
The cheaper the better :D
Thanks
Scott

That Asrock one looks nice! Am i likely to have to deal with bugs if im an early adopter of the new Z77 chipset?

Asrock have come on a lot in the past few years 5-6 years ago when i last played with this stuff they just did budget boards.

the Z68 boards do that too. its Lucid Virtu. but the Z77 boards have Lucid Virtu MVP (well atleast the ASRock ones do) which is apparently a redeveloped version. this is what im keen in as it claims that you can have virtual vsync, allowing higher FPS without screen tearing.

Shows what i know :D

Hopefully OCUK will list the Asrock on their site soon.

Well i think I might end up going for a Z68 board with onboard virtu and that supports SLI im fed up waiting for the Z77 boards any reccomendations from the OCUK site? If i order it tomorrow with SD i might get to install a shiney new board this weekend after all :)

I dont like my chances of the Pro 4 being a good clocker so im just going to send it back :(
