Sub £100 motherboard for 2500k

will post up my findings of the board over the weekend, and more importantly if the Lucid MVP is as good as it claims.
not sure on ASRocks official release date in the UK though, surprised OCUK don't have any Z77 boards in stock yet.

from our dealings with gigabyte they are quite strict, but so far everything has fallen within the 3 years. but from their RMA section

and a quick google shows some unhappy customers with items under 3 years old (since their purchase) being rejected.

overall gigabyte build quality is good, but we have sent more gigabyte boards back than ASRock (none from memory) and biostar.

It is S/N based, but if you have a receipt showing date of purchase then thats fine:)

that is really good to know. its a bit of a worry when you read on their RMA page warranty is worked out by manufacturing date. especially on things like older models as when you order you don't know how long it might of been sitting in a warehouse. but if they honour your receipt of purchase then I would say its one of the best reasons to go for a gigabyte board (as well as their build quality).

make sure its futureproof

is anything futureproof? another generation of IB is due out next year I think, which is another socket again, so nothing you buy will ever be futureproof as things change soo quickly.
all you can do is look at your expected needs for the next 3-5 years (or whatever you upgrade cycle) and buy the best that will fit them.

Well i think I might end up going for a Z68 board with onboard virtu and that supports SLI im fed up waiting for the Z77 boards any reccomendations from the OCUK site? If i order it tomorrow with SD i might get to install a shiney new board this weekend after all :)

I dont like my chances of the Pro 4 being a good clocker so im just going to send it back :(
