I have a deep fascination with submarines, and have read dozens of novels involving them. I've seen very few films about them though, so I'm hoping to find out about some I haven't heard of courtesy of you. :)

The ones I can remember seeing are:

Das Boot
Hunt For Red October
Below
Crimson Tide

Can you think of any others?

Run Silent Run Deep

^^ Classic Sub movie, with Clark Gable & Burt Lancaster. It may be 50 years old, but it'll give any modern sub movie a run for the money ;)

Thanks very much, they're all new to me except K19 which I'd seen but forgotten about. I'll keep an eye out for those golden oldies, as I enjoyed Das Boot, but I was specifically hoping for some more recent ones, ideally involving nuclear boats or modern diesel-electrics. :)

More of a low budget movie but made in 2005 is Tides of War with that geezer from the highlander series has a similar kind of scene to crimson tide where there is a dispute between commanders its not das boot,k-19 or red october but is watchable :o

I dont think it was a film but what was that submarine thing with David Jason in it, when the submarine gets possesed. I think it was split into 2 parts on tv.

I like U-571 but you have to take the story line with a pinch of salt. People just get annoyed as it's completely wrong historically.

I'm pretty sure I remember Ice station zebra. Excellent film.
