Ok I need some help with this work for my college course. Below is the question:

Number of needed subnets 2
Network Address 195.223.50.0

Address class: C
Default subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Custom subnet mask _______________________________
Total number of subnets ___________________
Total number of host addresses ___________________
Number of usable addresses ___________________
Number of bits borrowed ___________________
What is the 3rd
subnet range?
What is the subnet number for the 2nd subnet?
What is the subnet broadcast address for the 1st subnet?
________________________
________________________
What are the assignable addresses for the 3rd
subnet?

As you can see I've worked out the class and default mask, but from here I am completely stuck.
Could somebody please help me through the steps of working it out? (Note: I'm not asking people to do my homework, this is the first question and once I have an example of how to work it out I'll do the other 14 questions myself)

Thanks a lot :)

Its actually really easy.

You want 2 subnets so its a 25 bit net mask, you are borrowing 1 bit from the 4th octet.

the first network will be 195.223.50.0 and the usable address range in that subnet is 195.223.50.1 - 195.223.50.126...

I'll leave the rest for you ;)

It could also be a trick question, as the above will only give you 2 subnets but the bottom of the question talks about a 3rd, so you will have work it out for 4 subnets instead.

obviously you cannot make 3 subnets, 4 is the closest to it.
