Hi all,
It's ages since I last bought a video card so have absolutely no idea what's good, what's worth the money etc, but I'm looking to replace my ageing Radeon 7500 - I have a budget of £100 (more if it's worth it) and the card must fit in my Shuttle case! Preferably ATI, but not limited to ATI... :)

Any suggestions?

OK- those two cards both look pretty sweet, my first question is - the x1600 has 512Mb ( :D) but the 6600GT has 256Mb- for more money?

Why's the x1600 so much cheaper?!

because its slower.

the 7600 for the money is a cracking card and overclocks fantastically too.
plus its a single slot solution
 
The X1600pro isnt as bad as its made out to be.
Its just slower than the 6600GT (but same price), hence the bad wrap.

If going for the X1600pro only get the 256MB version, not the 512mb.

Or if you can find an X800GT / GTO, in similar price range maybe get one of those instead.
 
Thanks for all the helpful replies guys- I'm pretty much sold on the 6800GS, it looks like a really good card for relatively little money. The review which OcUK link to pretty much backs that statement up so it looks like i'll be ordering one today!

To be honest, my Radeon 7500 is so outdated - (64Mb DDR anyone?!!) I think I could stick a GeForce MX in it and still notice a huge performance increase :D
