Hi

I'm looking for a new CD Player with an iPod control or auxillary input to replace my current Pioneer DEH-1300R. Budget <£200 probably around £150 or so. I'm not too bothered about the make either

I'd like:

- Decent sound quality
- Subwoofer pre-out
- iPod/Aux input
- EQ adjustment

I've got a set of Pioneer components in the front and Pioneer 3-way speakers in the back

I'd like the sound to be clear and warm, not harsh with a fair bit of clear bass too

All in all, I'm happy with the sound that my current DEH-1300R produces. I'd just like an iPod/Aux input now

Any suggestions would be welcome - thanks

I have a blaupunkt Orlando mp46 which works really well, it looks really good too, not too aftermaketish. It doesnt support ipod but it has an aux in port at the back which i use to run an aux cable through the back of my dash and out a wee cubby hole infront of the gear stick.

It does everything you ask for and i thinki i paid around £160, cant rememeber.

Pioneer DEH-P6900IB (£150) or 7900IB (£200) would be my choice.

I'm currently on the older DEH-P55BT and its fantastic.

Thanks for the reply - that looks really good

I'll look into it - I've only found one place so far listing it!

I've been looking at the Pioneer ones and they say that they have a direct sub drive and a high voltage output

Excuse my noobness but does that mean they're meant to plug directly into the sub and not into an amp? I've currently got an amp and sub in the boot and I don't want to damage it by plugging a signal with too high a gain into it

it Direct sub control - means it has a dedicated line out for subs.

Then on the unit there is a SW button. This gives you control over the sub line out.

Thanks for the explanation :)

Had a look at the Pioneer DEH-P6900IB at Halfords this lunch - looked good (even though their price was rather optimistic!)

What does the 7900UB offer for the extra £50?

USB input - can play and control music from a USB pen drive or
a usb mp3 player - or from a Laptop Hard drive caddy ;)
