I got a pre built rig from another supplier, see my specs for the info.

how good..or bad...are pre built rigs for OCing?

2.83 isn't great tbh and I was looking to maybe push it to 3.2 or so...or even more but 3.2 would be fine for me

anyone else got any comments on pre built rigs?

mmmm, been toying with this before but chicken'd out as it seemed a bit complicated...thanks anyway, I'll go find my previous thread ;)

best bet, check what kind of cooling you have, what your temps are now at stock, that will give you an idea of if you can push it past that. also you need to check your mobo actually gives you OCing options in it.

Does the bios even have overclocking options? I know that some of the older dell bios settings were so limited that you could not overclock it at all.

whats your mobo?

Also, your multiplier is at 6x, should be at 9x so your CPU is actually running slower than it should be. There should be an option to alter this in your bios, just have a look around.

It might not specifically be the multiplier, but some bios have power saving options which lower the speed of the CPU when its not being used fully. See if there is anything like this and disable it.

fro5tie - Your sig breaks the rules, 4 lines max. Have a read of the FAQ :)

subbytna - its also worth having a look at your temps now to see what headroom you have for overclocking. If your board has no overclocking options then you would need a new mobo and you'd be well off to get a cooler too.
