sum up 2010

Yes, which I'm distinctly unhappy about. Police forced me into having the car towed too, which cost me £300, an outrageous ripoff.

Very much so, remember when my dad used to do police towing, was good money and that was quite some time ago!

Nothing happened to the Neon, which is now in its 4th year of ownership and is still standing us less than £250 in maintenance over that term (disregarding consumables such as tyres and oil).
The Fiesta needed the battery charged and a small amount of welding to get through its MOT.

I've had a major dose of fail trying to get the motivation to put an engine back in my Anglia, been messed around by an engine place, bought a standard engine to get me running but it's still got an empty engine bay. When the MOT was up on my hotrod I decided to carry out some surgery to alter the way the car looks and improve the handling. Again, hasn't happened and the car is just outside looking sorry for itself. I have very little need to drive these days, so low motivation to do any of it, especially when it's this cold.

Have also become incredibly unpopular on this part of the forum :p

Worst year of my life personally. Motoring wise my personal issues led me to a drink driving ban and a kicking for the privilege.

I feel like an absolute Wayne Curr and really do know better. Will be my 26th Birthday before I'm back on the road although I'm enjoying the 10 miles per day cycling. I'm certainly not moaning about the situation, it's my own doing and just getting on with life regardless. I'm also planning to get the GayMobile tarted up before I'm back driving.

Look on the bright side, at least that Colt is finally gone. It's a first car that stuck around so much longer than it should have that it was just amusing :p

Can't say much motoring-wise has happened to me this year.. I got a new car, that's about it. Not done much to the MX5 besides driving it :p

Well!
Drove the ZS, reliable enough. Had to change a clutch in the snow, which sucked.
Bought the Ti back for a Germany 'Ring trip, got it all running excellent and enjoyed a good week there.
Drove the ZS again, and cracked the cylinder head. High five!
Bought a shed, still driving it.
ZS to be fixed and back on the road early next year.

Started 2010 with 530i.

Spent £2,500 on tax, tyres, servicing, repairs and a front bumper respray on 530i.

Won't tempt fate so will end on the fact I've finished 4th December 2010 with 530i. 2010 should end for my car with a 1000 mile round trip to Scotland over 5 days ending on 31st December, so I'm certainly not ready to declare I've made it :p

Did a bunch of stuff to Project Bentley, got it to the point where the owner and I are more than happy to drive it around every day.

Broke a bunch of stuff on the 'cento, nailed it back together again, and saw it through another MOT. Here's to another ten years of dirt cheap motoring.

Pretty good this year for motoring for myself

Geneva and Paris Motorshows
Another Nurburgring trip
Couple of trackdays
Various meets from here and elsewhere

Roll on 2011!

This year's been pretty quiet for me, due to work:

Sold my ace Jeep Cherokee (4.0 Ltd). Still miss that. Stupid move to sell it but finances (quit my job) meant that I needed something more economical and I just wasn't going to be using it.

Bought and sold my Ford Puma Zetec-S, great little car. Just bought as a bit of fun and to try out a decent FWD car.

Bought and sold my Peugeot 406 Coupe (3.0 V6 manual) - that was a fantastic piece of kit. Had to sample some Italian built and designed FWD V6'ness.

Bought and sold my Triumph 2000 Mk.2, my first big six Triumph. Really modern car to drive in a lot of respects, just didn't feel the need to drive it for any longer though or do anything with it. Beautiful cars though.

Bought, did up and sold my Rover P6 3500S. That was a great fun, it was a real war machine having done around 170,000 miles - but it went well and sounded great :D Right barrel of laughs - spent quite some time repairing it, getting it through an MOT (had been off the road for several years), then the day it passed it's MOT I hammered it down to the Ace Cafe in the evening for a meet. Made it there and back without issue!

Bought and sold my cheap runaround, a BMW 325i SE (E30). Nice car with full leather, AC, etc - but I never bonded with it and didn't find it that interesting to drive.

Bought, and still have, my Ford Granada Scorpio, with RS bodykit and alloys. Really good cruiser that, probably for sale soon though for something else. Had to try out an 80's Ford and given that this one had only done 33k, I couldn't turn it down.

Bought, and still have, a Jeep Cherokee (4.0 60th anniversary). Real tough truck and should see me through the winter but I still miss my blue one that I had at the start of the year. This one's not quite the same - yet. I'm sure I'll bond with it over time.

I'm still busily collecting parts to build a nice 350 smallblock to go in something too - still looking for a decent block, though, got practically everything else! :)

Wait, you're driving from Devon to Scotland and coming back on new years eve? NOT spending Hogmanay in Edinburgh? Are you mad?

I couldnt care less about that really, especially the £200 a night rate change at the hotel.

Self catering's the best bet there - Hogmanay is well worth doing, such an amazing atmosphere

That grey Jeep looks sort of more chunky than the blue one.

Its worth blowing a few quid for new years up there Fox, it is a good night.
