Apart from the silver arrow which will obviously be better, how do these stack up to the TRUE120?

I want to upgrade the cooler but don't want to find I'm no better off lol

Had to be done, my best mate still is still using his stock cooler so he can have my Venom.

Chucked in a FC5 for good measure :D.

crickey, 4.4GHz on i7 950 (with Hyper Threading enabled) was easy to overclocked, at just 1.440 vcore and temperature still below 73C! My i7 920 @ 4.4GHz at 1.41vcore at around 88C (with HT disabled) with HT enabled is over 90C with Noctua D14

Don't take those results at face value, if u read their testing methods, all tests where on an open bench, so therefor not inside a closed case. And the Fan on both the true and Venomous was a 120cfm Delta.

Trust me Bulldog your DH14 would easily beat the Venomous, especially with decent fans on it.

Saying that my back up cooler is the Venomous, still in its box, as im still on water, but will use it eventually lol.

Yeah fair enough, I do have a Delta 120cfm as this is the worse loud fan I ever experience, sound like an aircraft ready for take off on the runway!

Personally, I am happy with 4Ghz with i7 as it faster enough and kept my temperature cool below 67C with 1.184vcore as the viper fan on the D14 is only spin around 1280rpm. I don't need 4.2, 4.4 anyway.

Re The Archon - if your case has a side fan on the door you probably will need to remove it ... as it is a beast@just over 170mm ... great cooler if it fits though!!

These would be tempting, but CPU cooling isn't my issue, its my southbridge which is getting too hot, and my GPU's in the way which would prevent sticking a bigger heatsink on there.
Are there any options for me, or is it just a case of sticking with the overclock I have?

The right size fan and a few zip ties worked wonders for me . Just got to rig it up right. May not be the prettiest but will do the trick,
