Lots of reports saying Gervinho is a done deal and will be on Arsenal.com later today.

Looks like an amazing player. Get Nasri Out, Put Gerv on the left, Arshavin in the middle, Walcott on the Right.

I hope Fabregas stays. I really want Clichy gone, he is useless defensively and cost us many many goals but slacking with offside trap. And generally messing about in our area. I'd love Leighton Baines.

Hope not. I seem to be the only one who rates Nasri. Not sure why people think he is such a bad player.

I think he's got potential, but he seems to think he's irreplaceable and that losing him would be devastating for us which is anything but the truth. He made hardly any impact after Christmas, there are others who can take his place and if Wenger brings another midfielder in then that's even better. If there's truth to the Mata rumours I'd cream everywhere.

Got some quotes below from Gervinho who is talking as if the deal has now been concluded:

A risk? Not at all. I'm going to Arsenal to play. The best risk to take is to look to score goals and to play a lot. In football you have to take risks if you want to win. I'm going to Arsenal to win.

All sides had to be satisfied so that things could develop smoothly. I'm going there to play, not to be on the bench. Arsenal love the game. And I love teams that love the game.

The Premier League is a notch above. It's maybe the best league in the world. I want to live that sensation.

Also Denilson's agent says that he's never talked to Wenger about Denilson leaving, whereas Denilson himself contradicts this by saying that he spoke to Wenger about being unhappy and Wenger agrees to let him leave.

Denilson's agent, Gerrardo Santiago said:

Currently there are no negotiations, Santiago told Calcio Mercato. The only certainty right now is that Denilson will be at training with Arsenal on July 7. With Wenger we often talk about other issues, but we have never touched on the topic of a possible departure for Denilson.

Whereas Denilson was quoted last month as saying:

I've been to see Arsene Wenger and told him how I felt and he agreed to let me go.

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/931388/denilson-could-remain-at-arsenal?cc=5739

Then there's some other stuff about Rosicky saying he's being kept, with personal assurances from Wenger and The Mirror says we are lining up a "raid" for O'Shea.

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/tra...nited-defender-John-O-Shea-article754696.html

Seriously, The Mirror has become worse than The Sun and The Star for just completely making things up. That article has no quote from anybody. It's not even a slow news day, why can't they just take some quotes from a month or so back and make an interesting article on it, instead of this boring made up crap.

Yes Bendtner has underperformed. I would hope he has a better goals per minute than a midfielder. Even you can't blame your rose tinted glasses that Bendtner has missed some really straight forward goals when given the chance. I like you have been supporting him for the as far back as I can remember and that is why he has underperformed. He can do better. You can not blame his lack of appearances for his poor performance. If he was that good he wouldn't need many chances to prove it.

Have you ever wondered why they never start as often as some of the others? Maybe they don't make the effort on the training grounds. Believe it or not but Wenger knows much more than you do about his players. You would be both arrogant and ignorant to think otherwise.

Almost everyone I've ever heard universally agrees that Wenger has his "prefered" players who simply get games when fit no matter who they drop out of the team. Walcott IS rubbish, he puts in no effort on the pitch let alone in training, yet he always starts the second he's over an injury over better more inform players.

Walcott, Song, Nasri, Sagna, Djourou will all start over better players every time. Bendtner and Vela when they came back to Arsenal start a game, we score 6 goals in the game, Bendtner 2, Vela 3, both have a couple assists, we don't see them for 6 weeks after that, this is bog standard Wenger rules and has been for years.

Now lets focus on Bendtner and scoring more than a midfielder, you do know he's played more games as a right/left winger than as a striker? You do know he has more assists than a midfielder who a lot of people want to stay and take over Cesc's role? You do realise he's scoring more than Nasri while playing massively less minutes, not like 5 less games a season but half the amount of games. Nasri has ONLY had goals, no assists, not very creative, no defensive help just goals.

Then lets focus on Eboue, the entire team loves him, he's everyones favourite player, have you seen Arsenal train, apparently not. He works his ass off, he never stops trying, he spends all training keeping everyone going, motivating, being the life and soul of the team. I may or may not be remembering right but I believe we gave him a long new contract right before signing Sagna, and Wenger won't sell him, like a bunch of our other players who Wenger won't let leave. Look how many people have run their contracts down to walk out on a free because Wenger won't play them and won't sell them.

I tried to say before, with Modric, compared to Cesc, he's awful, compared to a "normal" defensive midfielder which is closer to the position he was playing he looks like the best player in the world.

Problem with Nasri is he'd start on the wing but he doesn't actually play the wing, you don't see him fire in crosses, or provide others with goals, he basically played as a second striker, with all his work coming very close to the box and the majority of his success being receiving the ball INSIDE the box and tapping it in. Nothing wrong with that, but playing 30+ games in a season as a second striker and 10 goals is a pretty poor return for the striker with the most games in the team.

Now take a 5 goal 10 assist winger and ADD 10 goals to that guys season and you're doing very well, REPLACE all the assists with only 5 more goals, and its meh.

he's not terrible, at all, but people are acting like it was the former, like he suddenly added goals to an all around good game, but it was the later, he simply spent his whole time playing as the second striker and had a fairly poor/average goal tally for a top 4 team playing like that.

No problem with keeping him with a ok pay bump, but replacing Cesc, he's not in the same league as him, not even close. He can't run the offence, he's simply not that good, the quality of players top 4 teams should be shooting for Nasri is nothing more than average.

Nani 18 assist, 9 goals, Ronaldo, epicxepic, Pires 16 goals, 8-10 assists, Young 9 goals 17 assists(I think in his best season), Nasri 10 goals 1 assist, Charlie Adams 12 goals 9 assists or something along those lines.

I think the main issue with the league at the moment is in general the top 6 teams buying increasingly worse players all around, still winning, and people forgetting what great players really look like.

Nasri at best should be backup to two "real" wingers who get 10 goals 10 assists each a year.

Who should be starting over Walcott, Nasri, Song, Djourou and Sagna then? Eboue, Denilson, Diaby and Squillaci? Holy smoke the players you have mentioned are some of our best, of course they are going to be chosen if they are fit. Complete and utter nonsense as usual.

Any credibility in your arguments (and there is little lets be fair) dies when you criticise Nasri. He was by far our best player for the majority of the season until RvP came back. He dropped off towards the end but then so did everyone else except RvP.

Hope not. I seem to be the only one who rates Nasri. Not sure why people think he is such a bad player.

I'd love him at United, not sure he'd be the sole answer to our midfield problems but he'd certainly fill 50% of the problem

Any player that can score goals like this is more than welcome at United

Nasri was one of our best players last season, selling him makes no sense. Can't believe people would get rid of him.

Would much rather see Arshavin up for sale.

Nasri is brilliant, sensational at times and in a few years he will be up there with the best as he learns very quickly. But I don't think he's worth £110k p/w of Arsenal's money, bit of a slap in the face to the likes of Van Persie. If he's demanding that then I wouldn't disagree with selling him, even though it's an enormous shame to lose him as I think Arsenal is the perfect club for him. Alas, City have waved £200k under his nose in true scummy fashion, money > all

Arshavin was one of the highest assisters in the league last year. Just because he wasn't banging in 25 yarders doesn't mean he's no good anymore. He may have looked a bit lazy at times but he isn't a winger and he never will be, I blame Wenger for choosing a formation that doesn't play to our best players strengths. Arshavin should be in front of the midfield and just behind van Persie to get the best out of him, not chucked on the wing where he can hardly make a contribution. Given where he had to play his return last season was bloody excellent.

Plus £20,000,000 for a player in the last year of his contract who has apparently turned down £90,000 a week and has shown absolutely no loyalty whatsoever? Yes please.

In true scummy fashion?

Premier League clubs do that to other clubs all the time, just because it has happened to your Premier League team by a bigger club, don't get all antsy.

In what world are City a bigger club than Arsenal? :p

Sky saying you've began talks with Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, seems your well on your way to replacing him already!!

I can't say I know too much about him, let's just hope he repays us better than what Walcott has so far. :D

Isn't Arshavin off this summer as well?

Nope, there was a rumour a while back of him returning to Zenit but he never commented on wanting to leave, it was mainly because he was training with Zenit in preparation for a Russian qualifier and comments made by a Zenit official saying they'd be open minded in taking him back. I'd never want to sell him, I love the guy.

Doesn't mean it's right, if Arsenal were to offer an under contract player over double the contract his club had offered him then it would be just as scummy.
