But I still disagree with you that City are a bigger club than Arsenal.

In terms of good football and reputation I agree with you. I purely meant bigger in terms of the things I pointed out.

For all the duds we have in the team, the likes of Diaby, Denilson, Rosicky, Squillaci, Almunia we have still managed to be in the top four every season, and playing top level European football every season. Where were City? Oh yeah waiting for a sugar daddy. ;)

Where were Arsenal when Leeds were winning every season in the 70s. It's history mate, what happens next is what fans worry about :)

That's a realistic expectation though, fans aren't often known for their grasp of realism :D

:p

Think I'd have to agree with Jakeke too. With our current squad we can't be expected to be winning the league, though as he says that doesn't mean we can't.

I'd also agree with the notion that City will be an absolutely massive club in the future, maybe as soon as the next few seasons, and that money definitely talks but in terms of being a big club they aren't quite there yet. I must have misinterpreted what you meant by bigger, as a club they have that massive potential and with the amount of money they have it's almost certain they'll have huge success but Arsenal aren't quite out of it yet. :p

Last season knocked pretty much all my faith and irrationalism (word?) out of me, I'm now soberingly bleak and honest, it was much more fun when I had my balls out and thought we'd win the league every year though, we all know deep down the true state of our clubs, it's just more fun to pretend sometimes

I just fear that Arsenal will be the ones to suffer, and will drop down to the level of Liverpool in the also-ran category.

Chelsea and manyoo can spend lots on players too, and have the recent success to attract the players.

Come on spurs what are you playing at

Damiano has gone quiet.
New mexican striker- no comment
Now we are chasing who we chased in the summer except now we dont have CL football to offer.

:(

We'll still get 4th, probably comfortably, just certainly won't win the league which is always hard to admit before a season starts (we certainly won't do a Liverpool!), you're basically going in with no hope. I suppose I'm being premature and Wenger could buy Hazard, Essien and Cahill, but in reality we will get Gervinho, no DM, an inexperienced CB and lose some of our stars. I'd love to keep Fabregas and Nasri and buy 2 good players, it just will not happen.

Oh, I forgot, we'll get Oxlade-Chamberlain which more or less typifies our failings recently, the balance between youth and experience is off and instead of spending £12m on an established star he'll go for a kid who will cost half the wages and will no doubt go on to be brilliant, but in 3 or 4 years

I'm remaining optimistic, didn't Wenger say he would spend the money available to him? If Fabregas goes and Nasri stays I think Wenger will keep his hands in his pockets. If they both leave however I think he'll spend it.

The thing with all these young future signings is that even if they do come good, do you really expect them to stay? Our record for holding on to talent isn't the best, I just can't see most of our future players staying, especially with the current managerial set up in place.

Getting 4th will be hard next year we'll have to fight off a stronger City/Liverpool and Spurs (:D). If it's anything like last season we could end up lower!

I think there is a slightly skewed view here because of the fact that Fabregas will eventually leave and a huge deal has been made of it.

What young talent have moved on in recent years? Can't think of any youngsters that would have made it (all imo of course).

Of all the received transfer fee's at least 70% has to be used for Transfers

That's a far cry from what you were saying just a couple of weeks ago

Fabregas will be sold as Barca wont pay what is required
Nasri will not go to Man Utd

Now you're accepting defeat and both are going?
