Can any one with clear statistics about him (at least for the passed 2 seasons) post them here.
Because am getting worried shouldn't KK be looking for another striker in the market if AC is far over rated.

Here you go:

10/11 - 28 app, 13 goals
09/10 - 42 app, 19 goals (in Championship)

And here's the stats for Darren Bent:

10/11 - 39 app, 20 goals
09/10 - 40 app, 25 goals

Here's a decent prospect but I think many doubt that he's got the technical ability to succeed at the very top.

If we're throwing stats around..

Alan Shearer in the league for the 2 seasons before Kenny bought him for Blackburn for a then british record...

36 app , 4 goals
41 app, 13 goals.

Now, dont get me wrong, I'm not saying Carroll will become the prolific goalscorer and legend that Shearer went on to become. I am merely pointing out that the stats are not necessarily definitive.

Every time people here talk of overpriced players Andy Carroll comes in as the best example. I also thought he was over priced but not to the level you guys make it look. Can any one with clear statistics about him (at least for the passed 2 seasons) post them here.

I don't think he's over rated, I'm not really sure that many people even rate him as better than decent. You don't need statistics to know that if he wasn't English, Liverpool wouldn't have gone near him. Suarez is 3 times the player for £13m less

Indeed That doesn't look good for that money. He needs next season to prove himself. if he can get 15goals then its ok.

I have never known why Bent is never rated because he has done the job of a striker well but few people want to recognize him. Hasn't he out scored Torres for most of the seasons?

To be fair Bent just got sold for £25m, somebody rates him!

Also, I don't dislike Carrol, he's a good prospect and showed touches of class, it just demonstrates that clubs now look for £35m for good prospects as they expect to get it, a good signal that things have been buggered up rather well

You are correct but i remember that £25m shocked very many people here.
For Carrol at lfc certainly will become a success but i think his form at Newcastle also sort of brought him to the light he had became unstoppable!

Go on Wenger do it!!! :D :D

Everton star Tim Cahill has been linked with a shock summer transfer to Arsenal.

Italian website tuttomercatoweb suggests that Arsenal are ready to offer striker Nicklas Bendtner in a part-exchange deal to get Cahill to the Emirates Stadium.

Bendtner is keen on a move away from North London and has been heavily linked with a shift to German champions Borussia Dortmund but this latest report now has him remaining in the English Premier League.

31-year old Cahill, who is valued at around £14million ($AUD20.9m) on the transfer market, may be too old for Gunners boss Arsene Wenger who tries to stick to a contract policy of signing players under the age of 30.

This deal is highly unlikely to occur as Cahill is determined to stay at Goodison Park but the rumours are certainly out there.

Really?

Rafael, Fabio, Smalling, Jones, our defence there is sorted for potentially the next 10 years

Agree with the midfield, disagree with the wingers though again with Nani, Valencia and Young we're sorted in that area of the pitch as well

Fabio has a LOADS to prove, definitely not good enough to be 1st choice next season, Smalling again not good enough yet, still learning and nowhere near good enough to be first choice one again, a decent learning season last year and suddenly hes the answer for the next ten years.

Phil Jones is the only one i agree with

Smalling had a great season filling in for Ferdinand, the most expensive CB ever and arguably one of the best in the world, whilst Jones has shown some promise for Blackburn, and yet it's the latter you agree with?

I am le confused panda :/

be confused, why because Jones shows promise for Blackburn and Smalling showed Promise last season for Man Utd.

well from what i saw of both players (and i saw a lot) Phil Jones showed much more promise that Chris Smalling

Fabio was considered good enough to start most of our big matches in the second half of the season, so not sure you make sense there.

Fabio is better than Rafeal, he is a more balanced player.

However as I've said in the past, I prefere Rafeal as he is clearly mental and when he gets bombing forward is very entertaining.

i just hope they grow stronger, both seem to be made of glass!

you manc fans can keep arguing and arguing can't you.

Fabio is ****e in my opinion, rafael is way better. we'll see which one is better in the future

Yet Smalling gets named in the Under 21's Team of the Tournament and by large got far more plaudits from the watching pundits in said tournament.

the same Tournament in which Marc Albrighton who had a better season than Chris Smalling did in their respective positions didn't get on the field, nor did Nathan Delfonso (sp).

Wow he had a decent U21 Tournament, i seem to remember a certain lee hendrie owning the U21 Stage.

You're now compared a winger to a defender :o
