I would love this guy at Utd - but I suspect if he goes anywhere it will be Spain :( (although it would be much tougher to get games at RM I would suspect which could work in Utd's favour in negotiations)

On the Rafael / Fabio debate, I much prefer Rafael's over all game - nothing at all wrong with Fabio , he has just had a bad time with injury since coming to Utd and so has less experience (and his natural position is taken by the best / one of the best left backs in the game)

I would say there isnt that much between them though, and if Fabio (who is a more natural goal scorer for Utd so far) gets a run of games the seesaw could go the other way

Personally glad Utd have both of them

I'm still surprised that Anderson hasn't been more attacking with us. When I looked him up on YouTube before we signed him he was taking it past people etc. I wonder if we had a proper DMF whether that'd free him up at all?

While Anderson is still quite young he hasnt seemingly stepped up a gear since joining imo. On his day he can be exceptional - however the next match (even if it is the next Utd match) he can have a complete 'mare. Always thought he was originally bought as an AM but he has been more of a box to box cm for Utd over all matches he has played. No disrespect to Anderson but I wouldnt be that surprised to see Cleverely ahead of Anderson in SAf's mind before the end of next season.....if he isnt already (not being pro the english (or newer / younger) player at all - just trying to indicate how up and down Anderson is really).

Anderson also has to prove that his head is focused on Utd as well after the last few years (after all we all know SAF has a long memory lol)

As in 2 goals versus 1? :p And why does that matter from left/right back?

look at number of games played as well - surely Rafael has played many more minutes for utd (many more starts) - never looked it up mind, just guessing

Well considering SAF was after another left back Im wondering if the brothers will directly compete for RB slot.....

edit and to be fair there is clear seperation between mentioning goals and "there isnt much between them" - as the latter really was intended to mean in overall performance not just one stat

He can have Assou Ekottu if he desires:D

Same as you in that I'm glad we have both, but I actually prefer Fabio. He seems a lot calmer than Rafa in the big games, and I'm worried Raf's habit of seeing red could become detrimental long term. We shall see though, they're both so young they could both completely change over the years.

Oh god, while its Caught offside again, please god don't be true, Wenger thinking O'shea might be able to help our defensive problems. I don't know whats more depressing about it, O'shea being utter rubbish, being happy to sign what used to be our biggest rivals worst players, the rumoured 7mil price tag, or the fact that O'shea is probably a lot better than a couple of our defenders :(

Looks like Bothroyd signing for Everton is a done deal.

What a strike force we're going to have, Beckford, Bothroyd and Saha. Oh and Anichebe, but you can't class him as a footballer.

With all the rumours of arsenal players leaving are we even going to have a first team next year? Even the players were are after are getting looked at by bigger spending clubs so all is not good.

I bet DM is loving it.

At least you'll financially damage other clubs, making Arsenal the most profitable, and therefore best, club in Europe. :o

Just to touch on the Fabio Rafael thing - I'm sure that Rafael has only had two red cards in his 72 apps for the club. Bayern Munich & Spurs.

It aggravates me that he has this reputation the he apparently gets sent off all the time in these big matches and can't be relied on. Admittedly, he does make silly pushes at times that we've seen but he is only 20 and has been getting far better with them.

Fabio has played nearly half the games that Rafael has, and even last season he was played less than Rafael. The reason that Fabio was getting games at the end of the season was because Rafael kept getting niggling injuries here and there and was dipping in and out of fitness whereas Fabio was keeping it more consistently.
