It's not a one at a time situation, if Arsenal only sign Higuain this summer it wont be because it's taken that long to sign him there was no time left for anyone else, it'll be because they cant afford/don't want anyone else

Ok so Real have announced/unveiled Ancelotti as their manager, so with that being done the Higuain deal should be finalised shortly...i hope with fingers crossed. Juve look to have signed Tevez so their interest in Higuain should be non existent. Im just hoping that another team ie City or some other team doesnt come in with a last min bid to hijack the Higuain deal
Come on Arsenal and Real, finish the deal off please so we can go and sign other players. Heard we are still interested in Fellaini but he wants at least £100k a week and with a £22mill buy out clause, the deal could potentially cost us £50mill :/.
Apparently so, all the people involved (even my fiancée) are big Arsenal fans so doubt they'd make it up but I'm still sceptical. I really want this Higuain deal sorted ASAP too. Signals our intent and hopefully will help get a couple more big names on board.

Lets just hope Ancelotti doesn't decide that he wants to keep him. If not, we should tie this up very quickly. Knowing Arsenal, we'll dither around for a month and someone else will come in a nick him. If only we had someone like David Dein at the club to tie up these signings

Well if its true then there must be substance in it so to speak, surprised none of the tabloid hacks have got onto the story if Rooney was at the Emirates.
Still it shows that we are serious about signing him i guess but im hoping if we do, we dont pay a stupid outrageous fee for him and more importantly we dont break our wage structure and pay him £200k+ a week or whatever he wants. If we can get him on the cheap and he wont cost us the earth wages wise then i wouldnt mind seeing him play for us. But id really rather we use that money that we would spend on Rooney on getting a few more decent players.
Thats what im worried about, Ancelotti might turn round and say look i want to keep you etc or as you said another club coming in and making a last min bid to prise him away from us. Fingers crossed it wont happen but if it does then Arsenal only have themselves to blame really, too many yrs of cutting back, paying low wages, getting in rubbish players and selling our best players yr after yr hasnt helped us at all. And it could very well mean that we might want to sign such and such a player but in the end we get gazumped by another team
.Losing David Dein was a huge blow for us, someone that Wenger trusted in getting players in ie he brought in Henry, Bergkamp and other illustrious players. Ive always said since he left, we have gone downhill because the person who deals with our transfers now, doesnt seem to have a clue as to what to do
and its costing us.

I thought I spotted Rooney in my local tesco last night , spotted him down one of the isles . trying not to give the game away I casually walked over thinking I would say hello and get some transfer gossip. This is north east so he could only be up here to sign for Newcastle , I remembered that Ashley or somebody online said Newcastle were trying to sign him. So I thought I'd ask but when I got closer I realised it was a patatoe
LOL well considering Arsenal have said that we have up to £70mill to spend...whether that be just transfer fees or transfer fees and wages is something i dont know but i dont think that will be the case. It will be a case of not enough time to go out and buy other players because we took too long to tie up the Higuain deal or the players we want wont consider us because we havent won anything for a number of yrs and we tend to sell our best players ie we arent competitive enough to challenge for trophies.

I don't know much about him. I have seen him a few times and he looks good but I can't see where he'll play when you already have Oscar/Mata/Hazard.

Haha I wish you'd tell the Arsenal board that because they seem to go about signing or attempting to sign players this way. Unless its the last day of the season of course, after we get spanked 8-2 and then they happily buy 4 or 5 'players' on the last day

I dont know do i Tom...im not the one making the transfer deals, im just speculating much like the majority of people in here. Who knows maybe there is one particular guy at Arsenal that deals with all the transfers, like i said i dont know. All i know is that since David Dein left Arsenal, we have gone backwards rather than forwards when dealing in the transfer market. I just want us to tie up the Higuain deal and then move onto getting other players in if we need them. I dont want us to keep concentrating on one player then come the end of the transfer window, we start to panic...just like when we sold Fabregas then hit the panic button on the last day and signed a few dud players ie Santos most notably.
Now Tom if you know any better what is going on in Arsenal then please do share your insider knowledge

I know without having any interest in the club whatsoever that if Arsenal have more than one transfer targets they'll be working on deals for them simultaneously

I know it sounds like your typical rumour but I do trust the people involved. I can't see Arsenal going for both Rooney and Higuain. Given the choice I'd rather leave Rooney's wages to someone else.
