Hmmm interesting if true, Wolfsburg arent even in the CL so i find that hard to believe that he would leave a CL winning side and one thats in the CL again as defending champions to go to a side that finished 11th last season. Unless they are offering more money transfer fee wise and offering him a lot more money wages wise.

Anyhow lets see how this pans out, so far nothing from the Arsenal camp on this supposed transfer and wouldnt surprise me if we lose out on him...reminds me of the Bernard transfer rumours a few weeks ago, ended up signing for Shaktar iirc.

He said he'll stay for life if asked to do so but if the club want to sell him he'll respect their wishes. Would be a disaster if he left now but I wouldn't put it past the owners cashing in on him.

Liverpool have recevied an offer for agger from barca according to his agent.
Hope he is loyal....lol

Pretty sure i read a few pages back that Liverpool rejected the offer. Seems like Barca have now realised that they need some defenders in their team lol. They made a bid for Luiz of Chelsea but that was rejected pretty much straight away.

The obvious question is why are United not going in for Gustavo. If we are after Fellaini then why not get a cheaper / better CL player for less money than Everton would want for Fellaini.

That a good question,

That is the kind of quality player Man U/Arsenal need, Fellani is an obvious choice for Man U though as he was one of moyes men (as you know)..

Its a shame Arsenal are doing this rather than getting a Goal scorer though.

I find it strange that he's not pumped in money in previous seasons yet the one season that Premier League clubs are cash rich, thanks to the tv deal, you're claiming he's pumped in £50m.

It's common knowledge that the board didn't trust Harry Redknapp and they tried to keep him on a tight leash. Give 'Arry £50mil to spend and he'll go buy Tal Ben Haim. :p

Having a proper sporting director now probably helps too.

Not trolling....ok maybe a little, but Arsenal are not in the champions league proper.....not yet ;)

Tbh i think Wenger for some stupid reason still has his heart set on getting Suarez into Arsenal :/. But looking at our pre-season games and results, it seems like Giroud is coming good so maybe Wenger is waiting to see how he performs in the first half of the season before deciding what to do about getting a goal scorer...

LOL dont let me stop you;)...tbh i dont think it will be that difficult to get past Fenerbache...going to Turkey isnt exactly a bed of roses but it will be interesting to see what happens if say Fenerbache beat us and what UEFA do about it because currently they have an appeal to go through due to them being originally banned from Europe for 2 yrs due match fixing iirc.

Rodgers said today were hoping for more players to come in and one idealy for the left side of attack as his aim is to move Countinho to the middle :D

Good, So we get rid of downing and hopefully get some one who is better

For those who are wondering where all of Spurs' money came from...

Joe Lewis has pumped £50m into the club this summer. On top of this, there's the extra TV revenue and also Spurs are one of the few clubs that make an actual profit without having any loans (similar to Arsenal). Plus coming 5th and making European quarter finals

Almost word for word what cm said. Any source for this £50m talk or has it come from twitter/forums?
i'm not bothered where it's come from and i don't see why you are either tbh.
Because you have a habit of taking rumours from rubbish sources and taking them as fact. Like the mammoth stadium naming rights deal Spurs signed. What happened to that?

Probably means nothing but skybet have suspended betting on Scott Sinclair joining us, did he even do anything for city ? I can't remember much about him in honesty

When Spurs got CL the following window was not a big one, I expect the new TV money and the money from the CL is what is funding us, plus maybe he has put some money in? Who knows. Personally I think the ENIC tenure has been building to this and its now time to go for it.

The season Spurs were in the CL, the money received from that was nearly all wiped out by an increase in your wage bill that year.

Spurs wouldn't need any outside investment to have a one-off spend like this. The new tv deal, the way transfer fees are paid and accounted for means it's possible without any extra money, it just doesn't seem in keeping with how Spurs have traditionally spent.

It's been well documented on the SpursCommunity forum from a lot of the long serving ITK members on there. Most of what they say is generally trustworthy and there's no real reason to lie about a subject like this anyway. It's not something I'd ever expect to see officially documented anywhere to be honest.

I'm inclined to believe it as we've spent pretty big this summer already and not made too much back from transfers out
