I'd take Ronaldo back at United in a heartbeat. He was incredible for us and has gone on to be even better. He'd pretty much win United the league if he returned.

Have to say Ronaldo's agent is doing a great job of getting him more money for his new RM deal when he signs it.

He left us for a measly £80m, idc if playing for RM was his dream! The way he's putting them goals in La Liga annoys me but he's not won the CL with RM so that counters my annoyed mood.

If he's ever coming back to us, it better be on a free transfer. Right now I just want Fellaini, Vertonghen and Bale. It seems Barca are after Vertonghen now.

The only one out of those Utd are likely to get is Fellaini...

But I think the rest of the Utd fans would settle for just Ronaldo returning :p

The other good thing about Ronaldo re-signing for Utd (not that its likely) would be that suddenly a few high profile CM's would suddenly become available.... I would be very surprised if they didn't, signing for Utd would become a much more enticing project for every other player (apart from right wingers / forward players possibly lol)

Any other LFC supporters getting abit worried at lack of further activity ? As it stands we have sold more players than brought in (Assuming Downing does leave) so in reality whilst players we signed are better we havent added depth were still bare minimum.

We need quality signings that could go straight into the first team. I like look of all our players just worried we will be short again like last season.

well we do need to trim the wage bill (get rid of the dead wood so to speak), Mignolet is an upgrade on Pepe & Aspas is looking handy. BR has gone of record saying ideally he would like a further 4 signings, we look like getting the Brazilian LB, we're still in for Papadopolous and he still wants a new AM and possibly a striker. If we don't sign them this window I'm sure we'll address the issues in January.

In short, no, not too worried.

Seems as if we've signed a 15 year old! We've turned into Arsenal :(

United have beaten Aston Villa and Chelsea to the signing of Irish schoolboy centre-back Jimmy Dunne. The 15-year-old will reportedly sign a four-year deal with the Reds on 16 October, his next birthday. "There were other teams interested but, from the minute I went to Carrington [Aon Training Complex], I knew that was the right move for me," the Dundalk prospect revealed to the Irish Independent. "It's a huge club with a great history and they have been very supportive of me right from the start."

Jelle Vossen of Genk - rumours of an £8m bid from Newcastle.

Doing it the wrong way this summer. We need the players in early, to gel with the team, learn their positions. Get them playing the style we want them to. No right at the end of August, or in January...

Tottenham have reportedly made a €35m (£30m) offer for young Roma forward Erik Lamela according to Futbol Mercado.

The 21 year old Argentine had a breakthrough season at the Stadio Olimpico last term, during which he netted 15 goals in 33 Serie A appearances and the adaptable youngster, who can play out wide or in an orthodox central striking role, could perhaps be a signing Andre Villas-Boas is lining up to replace Real Madrid target Gareth Bale.
One would have to wonder if the White Hart Lane side could afford to make such a massive, club record, offer for Lamela without funds from any potential sale of prized asset Bale, especially when you consider the North London side have already forked out £50m to bring in Paulinho, Nacer Chadli and Roberto Soldado.
Villas-Boas could well do with further attacking additions, regardless of Bale’s fate, as both Emmanuel Adebayor, and to a lesser extent Jermain Defoe, struggled for form for portions of the last campaign.
Lamela moved to the Italian capital in a deal worth around £10m in August 2011 and has made a total of 66 appearances for Roma, scoring 21 goals and providing 12 assists, the Buenos Aires born forward has two national team caps to his name.

i doubt it but if there is any truth in this, bale is off.

He's not French... :(

Well said, though Newcastle have got a lot of players in early.. so just need a few new additions to find their feet. :)

We haven't got any players in! Apart from an injured Remy on loan...

We've lost:
- Perch (27 apps)
- Simpson (19 apps)
- Harper (6 apps)

Perch and Simpson haven't really been replaced, not that they need to, but we don't even have any decent youth players coming up to step in if need be.

I'd like to see another keeper brought in, I just don't think Elliott is good enough. At right back we're ok, but Debuchy is a reliability IMHO, but Santon can also play there. Left back we are good too Haidara and Dummett (he's really good and needs to be given the chance). Centre half I'd personally say Colo and Mbiwa are first choice. Taylor is good cover, but I would have like to have seen Williamson replaced. We need proper wingers. Jonas can't cross for his life, and he's pants at everything else. Hatem just wants to play through the middle, which IMHO he should be given that role. Centre Mid we are fine if we keep Cabaye. Tiote needs to sort himself out, Sissoko should be played more box to box than on the wing. And Anita is very good cover.

Strikers is our main problem. I've seen enough of Cisse now to know he just isn't a 20+ goal a season striker. He's wasteful, greedy and doesn't like to play with another striker. Shola is laughable, he can play 10 minutes a match and that's about it. Gouffran is excellent at running about, but doesn't seem to find the net that often. And Remy has a court case over his head!

Its quite a tricky one for Spurs in some ways because the Bale sage has been so public that if any club sells a player for a lot of money to Spurs, everyone will know Bale has to go. Will that reduce his value once other teams know that Tottenham are looking to sell?

Perhaps they could stomach the hit for a season and keep Bale.

not if all those players = champions league spot

The longer it goes on the less likely Bale is to go in my view. He's obviously injured, he's also obviously been told to keep quiet. I also think Real have used this as a ploy to get Ronaldo to sign a new contract, and I would be amazed if they can generate the money in a way to get Levy to accept a deal, £20m up front and the rest over 5 years is of no use whatsoever.

Bale has to be looking at the signings and thinking Spurs are doing everything that they can to push on to the next level which is all he can ask them to do. If the deadwood goes, which for once it actually seems like it may happen, and they sign a couple more players of the recent quality, then they really could mount a serious title challenge.
