I would obviously like it to happen, but dont think it's wise for Arsenal to blow majority of summer budget on Suarez, when there is plenty of talent to be bought under £30 odd million, even closer to £20 mill.

Suarez and Gustavo would put Arsenal right up there in my opinion, whether they happen or not is another matter.

Unless Wenger pulls off some magic in the next few days, he's let ~20 players leave and signed 1, leaving the squad majorly thin going into the first PL game. I always thought he was an intelligent guy, but that seriously doesn't add up.

The coming weeks before the window closes will define his future at the club. Can you imagine if they lose to Spurs (or Villa or Fulham for that matter), don't qualify for the CL and don't sign anyone? All of which could happen before September 3rd. There would be an incredibly poisonous atmosphere around the Emirates.

It won't. You should be asking questions about why all your eggs were in one basket.

I think Gustavo has every chance.

Suarez I'm skeptical. It's quite obvious he wants Real to come in for him, but he'd probably settle for Arsenal as he looks to have burned his bridges at Liverpool in my opinion. I personally think, if Arsenal stumped up £50-55M Liverpool would sell.

It is worrying that they've, seemingly, put all their eggs in one basket though. Coupled with the lack of early business in, it could potentially be another one of those summers for Arsenal.

Who's this Wootton guy for Man U? Is he the one that played vs Chelsea last season and looked out of his depth? Leeds apparently after him.

Yes, he's a championship/ lower prem qualitydefender, but still very young. In truth playing against Chelsea there are a lot of centre halfs who look out of their depth. So i dont think he can be judged on that alone

Yeah I wasn't dismissing the guy for that, it's the only time I saw him so couldn't remember if it was him or that Keane bloke.

Apparently we've actually bid for him which is strange as why would Man U hold on for him so long if they weren't going to utilise him and we certainly wouldn't bid over 1m for a player. Might all be BS.

Thank god we aren't, we seem to love slow players :(

All you need is pace for this league and we have none of it.

McD said he wanted an experienced defender so why would we go after a 21 yr old. Must be rubbish afterall.

This is 100% true.

Either fill the team with pace, or fill the team with proven goalscorers at this level ...tactics, shape, formations etc are overrated in the Championship. Kevin Phillips, Michael Chopra, David Nugent, Leon Best, Charlie Austin, Billy Sharp, CMS, Kevin Doyle....None of them are anything special, but pick 2-3 from them, stick them up front and watch the points stack up;)...No need to worry about anything else!

True. Although our shape was 10 times better against Leicester than anything Warnock would have mustered up :)

We rejected 1.3m today from Boro for Ross McCormack. Don't want to lose him really but the though of replacing him with wingers is somewhat tempting.
