Cant dispute that at all - the Galzers seem to want to operate the club as a commercial venture more than a football team which is annoying to say the least (I mean for **** sake, why do any FC need an "official tyre partner" for example).
Im all for media deals in different parts of the world, as thats understandable but all these other "official partners" are just ridiculous. Not to mention that without investment in the team, these wont last long anyway.
Spurs have done well undoubtedly, but they are still a rung below Utd and Chelsea (and probably City). Could easily get into the 4th spot though if the new players gel quickly

FFS Podolski is now out for at least 2 mths
, god knows why our players when they get injured stay injured for a long time. Maybe Arsenal need to invest in some better world class medical staff because for the past god knows how many years now, our players get injured far too easily then stay injured for mths rather than weeks :/. Either our medical staff are a bunch of ****ing clueless fools who end up aggravating the injury more or maybe our players are made out of glass

Yep. I think it was Wenger who said that there's more money than quality players available this window.
I wouldn't be surprised if we kept some cash back for January again. January's generally a quieter market and the CL clubs that we've been competing with this window will be looking for players that aren't cup tied in Europe, which won't be a concern for us.
He says that every year becuase he won't pay the rate for the players they are in for (like us this year)
Let's be honest, our window has been totally mismanaged right from the outset. Wenger hinted at the fact that he needed to wait until we were guaranteed passage into the group stages before looking for players, despite contradicting himself with the bids for Suarez and Higuain much earlier on.
We've had loads of time to get players in, and in my opinion the buck stops with Arsene seeing as we don't have a director of football or anybody who supersedes Wenger when it comes to transfer business. Gazidis has already mentioned we have considerable funds if needed, therefore the ball has well and truly been in Arsene's court all summer.
We always hear the "top, top quality" line which he likes to roll out on a regular basis, yet there isn't a single area of our squad which couldn't be improved. Now that Podolski is injured we have one striker and an injury prone French kid from Ligue 2, we are now short on both flanks with the injuries to Chamberlain and Podolski too.
I know Wenger likes to have the likes of Theo play up front, play Cazorla and Ramsey on the wing, play Sagna at CB and then say we don't need players due to the perceived versatility of the players we have, but when those players are filling in they are leaving their natural position short of numbers. The other day against Fenerbahce all four of our full backs were playing at the same time, and that's just one example of something which has been happening for years.
I've said before I'll judge him when the window closes but so far the way it has been handled is nothing short of an embarrassment.
+1, couldnt have said it better. Its been an absolute embarrassment the way we have done business this summer...well actually we have done nada other than a freebie which Wenger loves.
The Higuain farce was just that, a farce. I know quite a few pages back someone posted up something saying that we never even submitted a bid to Real as we decided to chase Suarez instead therefore losing out on him.
Fact is our squad is decent but half of them are injury prone as it is so i cant see us competing for trophies unless Wenger gets some decent backups in. And this late in the window?? its going to be very very hard to get good players in for cheap or a decent price. As i said above, Pod is now out for at least 2 mths...this is just not good for us.
Spurs meanwhile have made us look like absolute muppets in the transfer window, they got some decent players in and there is no guarantee that they will all gel together but if they do, then it will be interesting to see how well they do against the top 3 or 4.
Maybe but it's a lot truer this summer though. The new TV deal for the Premier League hasn't just made the Premier League richer - this money's been spent all around Europe and pushed prices up. Then you've go the likes of City, Monaco and PSG pumping even more money into the market and Real's mental bid for Bale.
Indeed his frugal nature or as i like to call it, his tightfistedness regarding transfers really ****s me off. I dont know if he can even spot top quality anymore :/...

Ideal targets probably, but then again Wenger is all smoke and mirrors and keeps his cards close to chest.
Most likely we wont get these players, but Wenger is still dreaming untill 11.55pm on the 31th of August, at which point he will go on a panic buy for realistic targets!
I suppose you are right, looking at how much PSG have spent on Cavani and then Monaco buying Falcao. The worst one is Real paying £90 odd mill for Bale
so prices have gone up and surely Wenger along with other managers know this and realise that getting world class players in is going to cost an absolute packet now. Moreso this late in the window as now the selling teams have the power to ask for stupid prices for their players ie Newcastle and Cabaye is one, they want at least £20mill for him...not sure if he is worth that or not.

LOL i dont blame him for keeping his cards close to his chest but really we should have had a few players in by now :/. We let 17 go this yr and only 1 has come in, we havent got the depth in our squad to deal with 4 comps this year and injuries are already starting to mount up ie Pod is out for 2 mths minimum, Diaby is out permanently
, Arteta is out, Verm is out and Ox is out...4 major players already out for awhile, dont consider Diaby to be a major player for us. It's not that simple. Prices have gone through the roof because all this money in circulation but eventually this dries up. For example, PSG signed Cavani from Napoli who then sign Higuain from Real who sign Bale from Spurs who sign Soldado (yes I know it happened before but it was with Bale's sale in mind) from Valencia - Valencia then bank the money. There's always players out there to be bought and there's usually a fair few clubs that are happy to sell and once the big hitters have finished their spending, the prices will become more realistic.
