I've just realised, Suarez is suspended until after the transfer window closes. Other than handing in a transfer request, what can he do to push for a move? He can hardly refuse to play like Fabregas or Modric did.
I read he said hes staying till june 14 when his contract runs out on rawk and a quick googke of his name gave the same

I've got twitter open and seen lots of people saying the same but the quotes from Balague, who's at the press-conference, are far less clear.

And you really think you can get £40m for Suarez? Who openly admits he doesn't want to be here anymore...

If he doesn't have a clause in his contract I'd expect us to get more than £40million for him.

Torres wanted to leave and said as much, we got £50million for him. Arsenal and Tottenham got good money for Fabregas and Modric respectively both wanted to leave.

Alright, looking past your stupidity. You'd hold Liverpool to ransom? That's a bit hard when Liverpool have the player Madrid wants, I suppose Spurs were he to ransom over Modric and United over Ronaldo?

Yes we saw how the team beat some garbage teams when he was out bar the only one above us who we unsurprisingly couldn't. Also Suarez will damage the team? Like Modric when he stayef an extra year? The guy is too competitive to not give his all if hes forced to stay as unlikely as it is.

Also good job pulling the what liverpool value them at figure out if your arse

It works on Football Manager :p

As for Carroll, don't even get me started. He hasn't even played a full season in the PL and Lolpool want £20m for him!

Only because West Ham paid £3m to have him on loan last season, thus making it around £18m. Plus I'm sure there are hidden add ons.

Hang on, so first you say that there's no chance of us getting £20m, and then you say that we have an agreement in principle with West Ham (given that Big Sam has said he wants to pay our price for him) for over £18m...

Either you've contradicted yourself massively, or you're being pretty picky over less than £2m. Either way, it shows that our valuation of him isn't significantly wrong.

Lots of rumors flying around on Twitter about City this morning;

Thiago has agreed to join City, waiting for Pellegrini to be announced first before it is confirmed.

Fernandinho deal is dead after we agreed a fee and terms, Shakhtar now want more money.

Terms agreed with Navas but no fee with Sevilla, he is holding out for Real Madrid

and finally Pellegrini wants Pepe :/ with no Kolo and Lescott likely on his way we do need a CB but I would sooner just use Richards there then buy Pepe.

Also we have bid for Bernard a 20yr old Brazilian, Dortmund had bid 12m but we have gone in with a 20m bid. Looks unbelievable on YouTube but could well be the next Kerlon.

Could all be rubbish but who knows.

Fernandinho and Navas are the signings I really want. Thiago and Isco aren't that dissimilar from what we have already unless we are selling a lot more players than I think.

Your post is more laughable than anything Liverpool have done.

Sure we'll sell him for less then we paid for him :D

We have an agreement of £15million with West Ham for Carroll.

hypocritical no? you will thus be making a £20m loss on carroll.

has zidane done his PR stunt with a ''suarez is easily good enough for madrid'' comments yet?

How is it hypocritical laughing at the thought we would sell Suarez for less than what we paid?

Interesting post,

I think we can expect a pretty big shake up as soon as Pellegrini is announced. I'm almost more interested to see who he cuts rather than who he brings in. There is still a lot of dead wood in the squad.

Yup, because other clubs never do anything similar to that (cough Bentley cough £17m cough).

Every club that spends money make mistakes with transfers. I find the one-upmanship about it bizarre.

What makes people think that Suarez has a £40m buyout clause just out of interest?

He was bought for what? £22m?

I think somebody came out and said it - maybe his agent? I wouldn't be shocked, it would suit all parties - he'd be moving to a bigger club and Liverpool would make a big profit.

Nobody has come out and confirmed any clause in his deal, it's been reported in the press and it would make sense if it's true. Suarez signed a new contract last summer when he had offers to go elsewhere - it's perfectly reasonable to think that as part of the agreement, he'd have wanted some sort of insurance that would allow him to leave this summer.

I personally can't see Liverpool getting more than £40m for him tbh.

I think any numbers in excess of £50m that some fans are talking about are just fantasy really.

Not really with a real madrid election and a poor 3 years with mou, big fee signnings are what the fans want right now.

The fans all want Bale though. I'm not sure Suarez even came into the equation when they asked the fans who they wanted to buy.
