I didnt think Moyes was a good manager when he was at Everton, I dont think he is a good manager now.

I think he is way out of his depth both in his understanding of the level of expectation there is at Manchester united from both the club and the fans, and his pure managerial ability.

I dont want to give him a chance, he shouldnt be there.

I don't mind too much if he doesn't get anyone but then he doesn't give anyone else apart from the same old who aren't exactly on fire lately over the young guns , giggs clearly has a bit more power now hes a coach aswell

That's his release clause yeah?

It doesn't sound like its quite that simple. That is the amount they would accept by all accounts but it doesn't sound like the player necessarily wants to come to United. Perhaps he saw us play on Sunday :p

See I'd be happy with that I think, more could have changed but we don't want to be too drastic. I'd say Valencia and Young are both on their last chance season though.

Happy, or happy given that at the moment you don't have anyone?

Would you have been happy with that a week after the end of last season?

I think its probably the best the clowns in our new management team could manage.
Which I would imagine is a lot better than the damage they could potentially do I suppose.

Of course not but we are getting desperate now so we have to be happy with whatever we can get. Those two would make us a better side and potentially make us stronger than last season but there are other worrying signs to think about.

Happy considering the current situation. If you'd asked me at the end of the season.....I think I still would have been positive. I watched for 3/4 years as Fergie did everything he could but buy a midfielder so buying two would be a significant improvement :) In the end we've still got a good set of strikers, Kagawa (if we ever use him) transitioning over from players like Vidic/Ferdinand/Evra to Rafael/Jones/Smalling is never going to be easy and there's not a lot you can do about it. Sign players and it just means the young players won't get as much football.

Strengthening the midfield will put less pressure on the likes of Evra to start attacks and will hopefully mean we can get the ball to Van Persie and Rooney on the ground, not lofted forward aimlessly from the centre backs.

You're not alone, I'll wait till the end of time. Open your mind, surely it's plain to see...

From the outside this is shaping up to be a great transfer window :D

Here's hoping there's no more movement!

I think a lot of Everton fans might suggest otherwise with the acquisition of Fellaini. The man is 20% chest and 75% elbows. Born to knock long balls down to strikers.

United will meet Herrera's £30.5m buy-out clause

Chris Wheeler with news on a prospective buy for Man United:

Manchester United are ready to pay the £30.5million buyout clause to sign Ander Herrera from Athletic Bilbao.

The deal will include United agreeing to play a friendly against the Spanish club to help finance the renovation of their stadium.

Bilbao president Jose Urrutia did not want to lose face by letting Herrera leave for anything less but is now confident that the Premier League champions will pay in full to clinch David Moyes’s first signing.

United are still in negotiations to complete two other deals before the transfer window.

Seems like that's going to happen then, just hope it works out. Apologies for any formatting and that, phone again.

Knock long balls down to the strikers? That sounds like what I just said  I was talking more about Herrera anyway, he's definitely a passer.

Fellaini & Herrera is a disappointment by 'Manchester United' standards, you have to expect players of a higher quality, but they are midfielders at least, and are no worse than who we currently have available.

I am concerned about our style of play though. It wasn't great last year, with Moyes and Fellaini around the team it doesn't look like getting any better. Yes winning trophies is what counts, but I don't want to be bored senseless watching us do it.

Hopefully someone slips Moyes something illegal and he goes for a vanity buy later on.

I would, however, be extremely annoyed if we waste even a penny on Baines.
