A statement from #LFC: Luis Suarez is not for sale - neither Luis or his representatives have communicated these feelings directly to LFC.

#LFC : The Club remains supportive of Luis and expect him to honour his contract. We will not be making any further comment at this stage.

Good stuff, last time I heard something similar we got 50 million, wonder will we go full retard again and spend £35m on Shane Long

Do you finish all your posts with a mini rant Purdy? :p

As long as we pick up the next Suarez for £20m again, I could live with us blowing the rest.

Yeah except we aren't going to find anyone as good as Suarez :p

What this does simplify though is Coutinho can play behind the striker now, one positive :(

Yes I usually do, our clubs a bit special in several ways

People said the same when Torres left and most probably when Owen, Fowler, Rush, Dalglish and Keegan left too. Not only did we replace Torres but we replaced him with a better player that cost less than half what we got for Torres*.

You mention Coutinho, who'd have thought we could have got a player of his ability and for just £8.5m too?

Regardless of whether Suarez wants to leave - and this applies to every player (I said the same re Agger last summer) - if we get a decent offer and Rodgers/the club feel that we can go out and bring in 2 or 3 players with that money and be better off for it, we should sell Suarez.

*It would be interesting to know just how much we paid for Suarez too. The club confirmed the fee was worth up to €26.5m (£22.8m at the time). We've not made it into the CL and only won the League Cup with Suarez so I can't imagine we'd have triggered too many of whatever add-ons made up that €26.5m.

All excellent points. It's a no-brainer for me.....cash him in. I also can't imagine for 1 second that Liverpool fans love Mr. Suarez more than any of the former players you mention above.....with the exception of Torres. Yeah, he's a very good player, but there will be others. Take the money and run - next season he might go for somebodies jugular!

It's al right gents we're after Alex Pearce.

Deary me.

What's he done to **** you off so much Purdy? Have you seen the picture of him at the legends/masters (or whatever it's called) dinner?

Best to get rid of Suarez now, if you don't will will just bite someone again in time for the January window.

I'm a little bemused with how sought after Suarez appears to be to be honest!

I mean he's a fantastic player but seems to attract huge problems (and therefore bans) consistently wherever he goes!!!

It's weird, the EPL needs all the world class talent it can get, there isn't a huge pool of talented footballers that ply their trade over here. Instead you get this strange gleeful hatred from some from fans of other teams. Same with Bale if he goes, whilst I don't think he is 'all that' it weakens the EPL if he isnt playing for Spurs, or a.n.other domestic side.

.

Bale may have dived a number of times (but then so do a lot of other players) but even so that shouldnt be compared to a toe rag that bites a player, doesnt learn (as if this should be necessary in the first place), and bites someone else (again) even without considering the racism case and all that.

Its also quite sickening how he continally protests his innocence to everything - and then after everything has died down, brings it up again and again.

Yes the EPL would be a worse competition without the likes of Bale, no question. It will be a much better competition without Luiz Chomp Suarez
