I quite miss the old days of nothing much open on a Sunday. Being able to go out for a drive and not hitting the same traffic jams you see every other day of the week.

As others have mentioned in this thread, there are 6 other days when you could do your shopping. You've even got the internet where you can sit at and order your shopping for delivery if you so wish.

I'm not religious, but Sunday used to be a nice relaxing day where you could potter around at home or pop out for a Sunday drive, and just enjoy the day.

Sadly never to return - RIP

The working poor can't afford to take risks because they don't have a buffer of money.

A lot of working poor/young also want more hours. Actually go to a large retailer and see how people queue up for extra hours.

There is a large number of people with part time work at the moment, something that masks unemployment rates.
