You may want to try a ps3 pad instead. I'm not sure exactly how the controls will work (I'm sure you've got a better idea than me due to your xbox360 experience in fact) but normally the ps3's dpad is better than the xbox360's for things like this.

I might try that, i have a ps3 pad/usb around somewhere. I thought it was a pain getting it to work though because the drivers aren't digitally signed?

Using it in wirelessly is a bit annoying yeah, but if you don't mind a cable it's plug and play.

I hear the drivers for wireless mode aren't as bad as they used to be, too.
