I'm thinking of having a little bet on the outright winners. I heard Kevin Cadle (sp?) on SSN tipping the Baltimore Ravens and the Dallas Cowboys. I noticed the Ravens were 40-1 on Sunday before they won again.

Would these be good bets or should i back someone else. I enjoy American Football but wouldn't own up to knowing that much about the individual teams! I'll trust your superior knowledge! :)

Bears are a good outside bet. Fantastic defence for the past few years and they have added some good quality to the Offense. First team to shout out Green Bay Quaterback Brett Favre in his career.

Cowboys are a good bet as well

Difficult one!

Bledsoe will need to sharpen up for the Cowboys to go all the way.

I've heard a few people touting the Dolphins or Broncos, but neither have made a good start.

I'd second the Bears as a good outsider.

Carolina could still be in with a chance, they lost on opening day last season and then went on a roll. With Steve Smith coming back into the team in the next few weeks it gives them more of a spark on Offense.

The Colts have been close the last few seasons and I can't see why they can't be close again but they haven't got good odds.

The Falcons looked good at the weekend and they seem to be alright defensively and the offense can be great at times.

I think the expert on SSN said that the Cowboys are great defensively. Is this true?

So nobody thinks the Ravens are a good outside bet?

I think i'll have a little on the Baltimore Ravens and the Chicago Bears although i'm tempted by the Dallas Cowboys as they have the best looking cheerleaders by a mile! :p

Having a bet will give me some extra interest throughout the season. :)

fozzy, I wasn't aware of the Cowboys being known as having at great D.

You tend to think Chicago, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, Baltimore, Jacksonville when you are talking defense. I agree with Baltimore as an ok outsider, as long as McNair (their QB) stays in one piece!

Oh, as a real long shot, I'm going to keep an eye on the Chargers this season!
