Superman 1 or Superman Returns?

Having just watched Superman returns last night, I have to see I was a little disappointed as just before going to watch it, I watched Superman 1.

My questions is, which film do you prefer between the two or do you believe the two cannot be compared?

I believe Superman 1 is the better film. I found Superman Returns to also lack some of the humour of the original.

Superman, it just seemed to have more charm and character, Returns tried a little too hard to 'honor' the origonal and failed to have it's own identity.

Superman returns follows on from Superman 2 iirc and ignores 3 and 4.
