Hi,
I'm after a 12 bay chassis for my storage server that uses SAS2 ports. I've had my eyes on Dell R510s in the 12 bay config but there are none in New Zealand right now for sale cheaply, and have seen the SM SC826 12 bay chassis for competitive price (compared to NZ anyway). It is currently fitted with JBOD backplane, but I wondered if anyone knew if you could change the backplane to the SAS2 version using this SuperMicro SAS826-7EL1 backplane.
Anyone got any experience? would this work or there likely to be issues?
thanks,
Chris
