Hi all!

Passed my CBT and I'm picking my wr125x up on monday.

Anyway I'm in the market for some bike gear obviously, I have a decent helmet and gloves but just thought maybe the upright riding position of a supermoto may constitute slightly different PPE? Could anyone shed some light on this? What's comfy/no go's etc?

I'm off to a local clothing retailer tomorrow to try things on but just wanted to know what to look for. In the market for a jacket/trousers/boots.

Thanks!

No different to any other sit up and beg style bike and there's plenty of those, the only thing I wouldn't recommend is race cut or 1 piece leathers apart from that pick whatever you like/find comfortable/can afford.

Comfortable boots!! I had a cheapish pair and had to get something better very soon after.

Alpinestars Supertech R's get my vote but I'm sure there are cheaper options. I must have fat feet or something as very little else felt good.

To back up benji's advice buy cheap buy twice really does apply more so to motorcycle kit than anything else I've ever bought I think.

I went with cheap Buffalo kit all round when I started it done the job and even saved me losing some skin in an off but once you start trying the more expensive stuff like Furygan and Alpinestars you realise just how much nicer it is to ride in although my Furygan Titan jacket cost me more than my Buffalo jacket, trousers and gloves combined!

I wore textile clothing on my kmx 125,sport style boots you'll find a bit awkward IMO,your best pick the supermoto/courier style of boot

Weise, spada, alpinestars all tend to make decent stuff

Watch out on Alpinestars.. I had a pair of their SM-X boots and the leather dye / coating just literally crumbled fell apart on me.

Had no choice but to throw these rather expensive boots in the can !

Then my again rather expensive race gloves, did exactly the same thing. I'm rethinking my opinion on Alpinestars these days. Don't get me wrong, if you're all about labels, its some of the nicest looking stuff, but there's something going on with their leather dyes...

Not that its stopped me, today i'm wearing, yup you guessed it. Alpinestars gloves... BUT the motorcross boots i purchased last week, were Gaerne... Just because it leaves me still a little sore that this happened to two of my alpinestars products.
