Supermoto VS Subaru!

What a load of tosh, a group n doesnt look like its set up for tarmac subaru vs an awesome piece of supermoto machinery. Nice vid :D

group N allows no modification to performance iirc

its only for safety stuff, and a slight leeway on tuning. I think its decat exahaust, performance air filter and thats about it.

and given that it doesnt indeed appear to be WRX, its not supprising it won. WRX is only 5 speed and has plain old fashioned fixed AWD

plus only develops 226bhp

its more hot hatch than supercar. 226 bhp is megane / astra vxr territory

280 from the factory maybe. But the Spec Cs can have 360bhp from an exhaust an remap, so surely with a few Group N tweeks it should be more than 280..

That's 280 official bhp though ;)

Edit: Blimey, he's not very commited is he, I think I carry more corner speed than that, and I drive like a girl.

Plenty of keyboard rally drivers in here i see.

Well i'll be the first to say well done to the biker. The car should have wasted him with all those corners.

Don't underestimate a 50bhp supermoto.

Well done indeed to the biker, he's very commited and very quick.

However, if you saw that video without the bike in it, would you go "Wow, he's a great driver, really going for it!" ?

Actually that one is a Spec C, you can tell from the noise (no burble) and it's got a roof vent. So probably around 320bhp.

good point

i just saw WRX in the youtube video and didnt look too closely. just saw "WRX" in the video title, and lack of high level spoiler and put 2 + 2 together

A competantly ridden SuperMoto can see off an awful lot of things... almost too much fun on 2 wheels, i love em.

Oh, and can someone tell me the difference in purchase price between the 2 vehicles? I take it that the car is worth a bit more than the 5-7K that the bike likely costs?

Cheaper, more fun, i know which i'll take every time:D

I agree I had a KTM640 supermotard, with race pipe aswell and the handling is superb can see off most things, also had a imprezza too, sure 4 wheel drive is great but supermotos take corner extremely well, quicker than a sportsbike I would say on a winding road.

Given a decent twisty B road, i'll see off any sportsbike you care to mention... get the speed past 50-60, and I'm toast...
