Whether it's Ghosts or Aliens visiting us from distant planets I believe People have always believed in the paranormal. Things go bump in the night, there are unexplained happenings - what is it? What do you believe and what experiences have you had (if any)

I have experienced paranormal happenings but im not compleatly a beliver i am still open minded, and on the supernatural front with the size of space there has to be something out there.

I've had something happen to me when i was younger in my old house. It was a converted barn, and was haunted apparently. I was going to sleep in my room once.. i always slept with the door open too, i thought i saw something out the corner of my eye so i looked up and saw something walk past the door. At this point i crapped myself, but proceeded to the door with caution.. i looked round the door to see it disapear in the bathroom, i told my parents, they had a look but nothing was there. Man that house spooked me out so much, it was always dead cold :(

hm, reckon i'm 90% non-believer and 10% believer.

in other words nothing has ever happened to me to make me believe, but i wouldn't completely write off the possibility.

Im convinced our house is haunted with some of the things that go on it. Footsteps in the middle of the night. Our four year old son having his hair cut when he was in bed. Mrs Loki was a complete non believer and was as sceptic as sceptic can be until she saw a figure at the bottom of the stairs disappear when the dog walked through it. Loads of other occurnces that I cannot put off as well its possibly this that or the other

Aliens visiting us from another planet isn't paranormal. It's perfectly logical.

Ghosts and unicorns etc is paranormal, and no I don't believe in it. I prefer to believe in the laws of physics, evolution and the rules of the universe.

Undecided here. I've only had 1 unexplainable thing happen to me, and that was when I was young (about 4). I was in bed and I looked towards the door (which was open) and there was a black figure standing there. It wasn't a shadow or anything as it was solid black and I couldn't see anything behind it, nor was it one of my parents as I told them about it the next morning and they said neither of them came upstairs the entire night. Basically I bricked it and dived under my bed covers, and when I looked again it was gone.

I'm open-minded on the subject.

I've had a couple of experiences in my time that have made me stay this way. There could be an explanation either way and no one can prove which one is real.

In my house the door-way of the kitchen and bathroom freak me out. The bathroom is downstairs and the kitchen door and bathroom door are on either end and if I go in the kitchen I get a horrible feeling coming from both those areas from either side of me.

Even on a day like today when it's bright and sunny, I only have to look at them and I just feel horrible. It's weird. What's even more strange is that my dog, before she died (:() would always stand at either door when I was in there and just watch me. She used to lie down and stare at them all the time, even when no-one was there.

I thought I saw a ghost once when I was little. I woke up at about 3 in the morning, and saw this big white thing on the other side of the room, sort of the stereotypical 'cartoon ghost' shape. Being little, I was alsolutely terrified, and sat staring at it for hours, hardly daring to breathe. Then the sun came up and I realised that it was a white bedsheet my mum had hung over the cupboard doors to dry. :o

What makes you think that ghosts can't be explained by the laws of physics? We don't know everything yet, and there are some things that simply can't be explained by science, so by that logic, until we can categorically disprove the existence of ghosts etc, we can't say that they don't exist. I'd like to point out that I consider myself a science-oriented person, so I'm not simply spouting theoretical gibberish from an entirely uninformed point of view (just a vaguely uninformed point of view...:p).

Personally, I would like to believe in ghosts, God, all that sort of paranormal stuff, but I can't accept it until it's proven. I do, however, acknowledge that it's possible. I kind of hope that it is real, to be honest.

I am not convinced either way although I do believe in aliens. As for dogs picking up on things we don't notice, I have experienced that myself.

Paranormal? Don't believe a single thing. Zip. My Mother and Sister do and have been the odd time to the spiritual church or whatever.

Aliens, well, of course that is perfectly logical that somewhere in the Universe there are some other form of being.

But the fact that they're going to come and secretly visit us takes some explaining...:p

I am pretty open minded on the subject although I despise tv shows like haunted etc.

On the aubject of aliens I am in definate belief that they do exist. I mean they could be amongst us right now. *X-files theme tune*

I've always wanted to go on one of those ghost hunts like most haunted.

Anyone ever done one ?

Doing one in two weeks from work at a place called Salmesbury Hall near preston. I took some pictures there last time I went and there was one that turned out quite unexpected. All distorted except for a figure of a woman in the top right hand corner.

Im realy open minded to it all really. I think the argument of sicence hasnt proved it so it must be wronghas its limitations. Science grows and our understanding of our environement is constantly changing. Whats not to say that it will be proved in the future. Thats not to say we must dismiss our understanding of today of course

The key word here is "unexplained" - it simply means that we havent built a device to "measure" it yet.

Water Divining is a great example of something that is repeatable but "unexplained"....

Do aliens exist? Logic suggests a very strong possibility that they do.

Have they ever visited this planet? The same logic suggests that is unlikely, at least under the laws of physics as determined by our current understanding. So, I rather doubt it.

I would suggest that a very large proportion of so-called alien/UFO aightings are either totally fictitious or the result of flawed observation or comprehension of what was being observed. But, is there a core of genuine sightings hidden in that morrass? Dunno. I haven't made up my mind either way, because I have no hard, credible evidence either way.

As for the paranormal, I'm dubious but open-minded. I have experienced a few things I struggle to explain, but I suspect that is a lack of understanding on my part, not anything paranormal. But I certainly don't discount the possiblity that paranormal activity actually occurs, because I have no way to prove it doesn't .... or that it does.

In other words, on both counts, I have doubts but no concrete opinion.
