Supplements the debate/discussion thread

If everybody did that, the supplement business would die. ;)

True i guess.
I definitely notice a difference from ZMA

I usually wake up a couple of times throughout the night, since taking them I sleep like a log all the way through the night. Get some crazy dreams too, as in seriously crazy

I guess it's the case a person(s) body reacts differently to different things.

Just wanted to point out that the guy didnt buy them, he got a free sample. OK he could have just typed ZMA into google to find out what they did but hey-ho.

Missed that bit.

On the note of ZMA, MP also do their own version of it which is a lot cheaper too, for anyone wanting to try it out.

I think I will be ordering my usual Whey, Creatine, Glutamine and BCAA today too.

Anyone tried Mutant Mass?

Im on a bulking mission and I have no problems with huge calorie shakes if they help me on days where I struggle to get fed properly in this crappy military camp.

Value wise I think its actually quite decent. Even half the ridiculously huge serving size still provides me with 500 calories and 26g of protein.

These were best price matches I could find:
Ironscience: Creatine 1kg £6.83 (£11.29rrp)
pro-10.com: Isolate 1kg £13.76 (£20.99)
optimusprotein.co.uk Isolate 4kg £46.13 (£62.99)
bulksuplementsdirect: Super Omega 3 250's £13.30 (£30)

That's a hell of a big shake 260g!

Would buying some oats and some whey not do the same thing and work out a LOT cheaper?

Oats is a tenner and 5kgs of whey can be got for what £45. Throw in some peanut butter for extra calories!

I cba to do the maths right now but i've never seen a mass gainer that even comes close in price to buying stuff separately. They always look like good value until you realise there are only 7 servings in a 10kg tub ;)

Thats true, but regarding the convenience its reasonable value I think. I certainly would be halfing the servings. Which would mean 52 500 calorie shakes for £43... thats actually quite decent I reckon.

I might treat myself tomorrow and see how it works.

Peanut butter isnt too cheap either really.

Peanut butter is £1 a jar if you shop around. Granted it's along the lines of Sunpat but it's not expensive. Or get 1KG from somewhere like MyProtein or BulkPowders for £4 if you want something slightly better.

It is if you get it from bulk supps or MP.

But to be fair 52 shakes for £43 isn't too bad.

Rapid Eye Movement - it's a phase of sleep. Your sleep happens in cycles. Deep light deep light deep light etc... REM initiates in deep sleep - that's when most of the CNS recovery and repair functions of sleep occur. The vivid dreams are in a light phase of sleep after a bout of REM sleep.

Hmm....So to maximise gains I should be in a constant state of REM sleep?

I shall test all the pills in the world
