Supplements the debate/discussion thread

Shall we have a little price comparison then?

Post up your pre-Oct Order Cost and compare it with the same items now (or whenever sites update their pricing) ?

See if we really did make any savings ?

Well it doesn't make a difference as far as I can see. It's like the rising cost of petrol; I need it, so I'll buy it.

To a lesser extent, I 'need' protein powder/recovery shakes, so I'll still buy them. Yes they're not essential, but even with the price increase it'll still work out cheaper than buying whole foods and in a lot of cases are more convenient.

So yes, the prices may have gone up, but it's rather inconsequential to me (and I assume others).

I agree, and as you say the powders cheaper in the grand scheme and more convenient so I'll keep getting it.

Grabbed by the balls would be a convenient term :p

Thankfully I have not long got; 5kgs of whey, 2.5kg of dextrose and 5kgs of oats.

Well this site i ordered my ptorien from yesterday has already bumped their prices up:

Yesterday - Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold (4.5kg) = £71
Today - Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey Gold (4.5kg) = £86.49

Fuark, spent a fair bit yesterday

CNP Pro Recover
Animal Pak
Xtend x2
USN Pure
Taurine
Citrulline Malate

Then just before bed, I decided to buy a bit more...

Another CNP Pro Recover
Muscletech NanoX9 (love these)
Fitness Authority Whey 2kg x2 (best tasting whey ever)

BOOM! Shouldn't need to buy anything now until well into next year

That could be due to the expected 20% increase in price.........?

:D

Meh, it's mostly just protein, it's nothing fancy other than the NanoX9. The animal pak is a multi vitamin, the pro recover is a post workout shake, they whey is just for the mornings to put on my oats, and the taurine and citrulline is for my pre workout blend. And as for the Xtend, well intra workouts are great as they encourage you to drink more during your workouts, flavoured water > water, the fact that it has BCAAs in it is just a good bonus

So he shouldn't really be that upset

There is no need really, it's just something that could potentially help, all depends if you're willing to spend the money I guess or see it as something that could benefit you. If you can afford it, no harm done
