I say 'supposed to be' because I'm not really a runner, I don't enjoy it and I've not really trained much apart from on the treadmill in the gym a couple of times a week. I do enjoy the sense of achievement though after a run which is why I'm probably going to do it, plus I've paid the £12 entry fee
I went for a 4.85 mile road run a couple of days ago which I did in just under 38 mins which I think works out at about 47 mins for 10K? (correct me if I'm wrong). If I'm honest I'd be happy to finish in under 50 mins. I *think* I might be able to shave a few seconds off that time but then again I may burn out too soon trying, so to try and avoid this can anyone give me any advice on how the actual race should be run? Do you start off slow and move it up a gear towards the end or halfway through or run the whole race at a single steady pace? Also, should I do any form of training today before the race tomorrow? TIA!
