Hi All,
Next week I'll be semi-opening my Surface Laptop 5 to replace the keyboard. As this will fully expose the SSD, it makes sense to do the upgrade I was planning at the same time.
I know the laptop takes the M.2 2230 drives, however I'm also aware that the originally fitted drive was GEN3.
There appears to be a few reports of GEN4 drives causing issues, maybe power related? Not many reports, but enough to raise a concern.
Has anyone here installed a GEN4 into a Surface Laptop of similar age - Laptop 4 or 5 maybe? If so, what brand/model did you use?
I'm looking to pop in a 1TB - the Corsair MP600 & Crucial P310 are coming out favourites, mainly due to their sensible pricing. However, if anyone here has used a different brand with success, willing to change to a known working.
Cheers.
