Hey peeps

I have a Asus striker extreme 680i mobo, but am currently looking at the MSI P7N2 Diamond nForce 790i Ultra SLI Socket 775, you can pick these up for £100.00

I dont have the cash (and wont have for a while) to upgrade to i7 so was thinking of getting this board, Ideally if i bought a 790i i would get the striker II extreme, but they still cost £200.00, this MSi mobo looks a complete bargin, with the same 790i Ultra chipset as the Asus.

Is this to good to be true, or am i missing something. I have found some reviews which all seem to like this board, i have no experience with MSi product, so please let me know your thoughts.

I have 2 x GTX260's so need too stick to nVidia chipset's, this side of i7's.

^^ Yeah, price's are pretty resonable though, £65.00 for decent dual channel kit of 4GB.

Also i would sell my current Striker Extreme + 4GB RAM DDR2, for around £100, so the upgrade price for the 790i would be pretty resonable :)

Other than faster memory speed you wont really be gaining anything substantial.

I'd say scratch that upgrade itch elsewhere.

Oh and remember to pay attention to the voltage of any ddr3 kit you may buy. Some are higher and some are 1.65 fo i5, you want the higher stuff.
