Swiftech H20-120, Titan Amanda or Tuniq Tower?

Hello all,

I am doing a new build and while I’ve toyed with the idea of a water cooled set-up, I had more or less decided against it due to the extra time and money involved. I’ve seen however the Swiftech H20-120 for only twice the price of a top-end air cooler and I was wondering if it was worth it. It’s clearly not a patch on a decent custom-water solution, but is it any better than say a Tuniq Tower? And is it hard to set-up?

I’ve also thought about the Amanda Titan, but the reviews are pretty mixed. Any words of wisdom would be much appreciated. I’ll be cooling an energy efficient Q6600.

Many thanks,

Uncle

Depends how much you want to overclock the system up 3.4/3.6ghz you should be fine on good air cooling such as Tuniq Tower or Ultra 120 - Extreme

I got my Q6600 G0 Energy Efficicent to 3.2ghz on the stock cooler (around 61c max load temps after 8 hours Prime95) so if you looking for just a bit more may not even have to go off stock

This would so much depend on your case and what you have in it.

When you look at at review, note the case and decide if it has more room etc.

For the price of the H20-120, I'd personally go with the TT120.
Been running my TT120 for about 2 or 3 months and I've had no problems with it.
Moving to a watercooled setup next week though so the TT shall be going !

Space I have. I just got the Thermaltake Mozart. I have no idea how i can fill the thing up.

That's a pretty case :) A lot of people dont like the Thermaltake cases but frankly if I had the room (which i think we do!) I would get one! Only problem atm is the misses how can she not find it beautiful!?

I have to say when it arrived i was giggling like a school girl. At first I thought, 'It's not that big', then I realised that I was mentally comparing it to a fridge rather than a computer case. Now I am worried that i'll fill it with a state of the art pc and it'll still look empty.

In all fairness the TT120 is the safe choice. I know it'll do a bang-up job, but I fancy something more exciting. If the Swiftech kit performs on a par or better, or the Titan, then I might just give it a shot for the experiance.

It can't be that big can it? Is it big enough to put a couple cats and dogs in it? Not that I want to do that or anyone would want to do that for that matter but still gives a general idea of its space :|

Well when my brothers arrives ill try with our cat :P But I would imagine so

You may want to look up the, Thermaltake CL-W0075 Bigwater 735 Liquid Cooler or Thermaltake CL-W0076 Bigwater 745 Liquid Cooler awell if your after a kit??? Again dont know what type of performance these kits give?, for me for them to be worth while that would at least have to cool 10-15% more efficantly than Titan Amanda or Tuniq Tower
