Just going through the process of cleaning up all the water cooling gear i ordered.

Opened up the Swiftech MCW55 VGA block and the copper bit on the inside looks like it's been made by some GCSE student with a hack saw and 5 mins spare at the end of the lesson !

if i hadnt have checked there would have been tiny bits of copper floating around the system, i presume that wouldnt have done the pump any good!

What concerns me even more is it doesnt look like i can open the CPU block up to have a look inside

tell me about it.

Very poor of swiftech, i'd have expected this kind of thing from a "cheaper" brand. I went for swiftech gear because i thought it would all be good quality.
Makes me wonder about the rest of the stuff!

Bl00dy typical, just my luck today! managed to blue screen our ISA box at work by touching a network lead. Were suffering from monster static at the mo :(

Bit narked off now

Wanted to RMA the block as it seems to be in a terrible state. you dont see ANY copper heatsinks with bits of copper bit hanging off or floating around, why should i accept that from a water block?

Overclockers won't even entertain the RMA, when i ask them if it's ok to file off the shards of copper, i can but i'll invalidate the warranty!

What next?!?!

I ended up emailing Swiftech with a picture and there response was more or less "tough Sh!t" it looks ok same as overclockers!!!

Soooo... the Dremel is out with a few light sanding disks & polishing bits :D

Time to Rock & Roll

At the end of the day, if Swiftech want to knock out sh!te quality water blocks thats up to them! I won't be buying any more or recomeding them thats for sure.

I rember spending 60 quid on a Swiftech MCX462 many years ago, purely based on thier reputation for quality products. If they keep selling making and selling half finished products the reputation & sales will fall.

I have to admit Overclockers are in a bit of a sticky situation as thier just the reseller, but i do believe they should reconsider stocking Swiftech equipment if the quality continues to be this bad!

Now wheres the Dremmel gone...

Very true. you can alway rely on the Germans for quality & percision...

thats why i've only ever bought beemers :D
