Getting my new late spec clusters today, had a legal / MOT question...

Example.

1) When fog lights are on, the reverse lights glow RED as they should
2) When the car is in reverse, the reverse lights glow WHITE.

My theory is that you really won't be reversing in thick fog *too* often, and even then you'll have your rear lights on.

I had a similar thought.

As you only legally need one of each - I was going to leave the near-side reversing light as just that, but put 2 bulbs in the off-side and switch them.

Using a relay to control the grounds of the bulbs, with the NC (Normally Closed) pin going to the reversing light, and power the coil of the relay from the fog light signal, the NO (Normally Open) to the ground of the fog, it will only illuminate the fog light, not the reverse light with fogs on, but will continue to automatically give two reversing lights for the majority of the time.

the celica has 2 red lights on each side, currently my inner two are fogs and the outer 2 are rear/brake lights.

I might just leave it like that, although something can be said for having 5 brake lights :p

Thats how I have the FTO wired, as it meant I could get rid of the bolt on fog light.

Pretty sure that by MOT standards you'd need one of each to be able to function at the same time. But that's me just guessing so don't quote me on it :)

5 brake lights would be sweet though :p
