Switching from gen 3 speeds to gen 4

Anyone know how I get gen 4 compatible speeds on my pcie? I bought a gen 4 ssd with z490 unify knowing that I’d update to 11th gen processor which I did.
Now I’m looking to have my system running on gen 4.

Motherboard doesnt support pcie4.

I thought MSI brought out BIOS updates to support PCIE4 on the Z490?
