SWTOR keeps minimising to desktop

Do you have two monitors and are you, by any chance, moving the mouse onto the 2nd screen and clicking therefore minimizing the game window? I have had a few games that do this when in full screen mode.
 
Still happening.

It seems to be whenever something happens in a background app.

For example, I was in a raid last night, and we always use mox parser. BT were having routing issues and as such mox wouldn't connect. When it came up with that error box, it minimised the game. I'm sure leaving my Facebook page open and when that updated with something it also minimised the game. Also seems to be other apps doing it. Which leads me to assume it's an OS issue or maybe the game itself?

Currently while there's downtime, I'm reinstalling the game, and will see if that helps the issue. I hope so!
 
Didn't fix it. :( I think I'm going to rebuild...

Are there any apps that can monitor background tasks and see what's causing the game to minimise?
 
Tried opening task manager and seeing which program(s) are active? Also, typing msconfig in the search bar and seeing what startup programs can be unchecked?

I have to end the process for AppleMobileDevices, the git uses 25% of my CPU and if i don't end the process it causes FPS problems. Apple have been called up about it, but they do absolutely **** all to rectify it.

Edit: Make an exception in your Anti-Virus and also check to see if any updates are ongoing too.

Do you happen to have any TP link software installed? I had software installed for a USB wireless adaptor that for some reason caused games to minimize frequently.

All but essential startup programs are enabled, I never have anything I don't need running. As I said above, it seems to be multiple applications which cause the game to minimise, not just one thing.

I used to get this when playing games and it was so annoying. Looking in the event viewer the only thing I could see happening at the same time was the flash player automatic updater trying to update. I disabled the automatic updater and the problem disappeared.

Is there anything in your event viewer log or task scheduler happening at the same time your games minimize?
 
Nothing in the eventvwr. The Windows Update window caused it to minimise just now, notifying me that it's ready to install. Prior to that it was iTunes complaining about something. So it seems that any task that needs attention it minimises the game.
 
Never tried it. However, since SWTOR is down, and I'm very bored with a glass of wine in front of me, I'm going to reinstall the OS and see if that helps.
 
Any overlays like steam or teamspeak running over the top of it? That could be playing up, also what exactly do you run in the background? You mentioned iTunes but I can't imagine why that would be running, is there a windowed full screen setting you can try? Do you run it as an admin (you never know...). Could there be some permissions issues in the folder it's in (i.e. program files) causing this?

Just a few thoughts.
