Would you support a military strike on Syria without a UN Security Council resolution?

The PM could use the Royal Prerogrative.

http://www.newlawjournal.co.uk/nlj/content/who-should-declare-war

'It may be posited that in exercising this particular prerogative the prime minister enjoys what ancient kings once enjoyed: the use of almost absolute power in the application of a discretion'

Seems to fit the bill.

This has already been discussed and shown why the principle is not the practice.

I genuinely wonder whether you investigated this issue and failed to understand it, or didn't investigate it and are just bluffing? Because either way, you're coming off as being utterly ignorant of British politics. The PM has the power to begin military action without a Commons vote.

The parallel between the anti-interventionist posters and ignorance of British politics displayed in this thread is quite telling.

Ironic, considering you clearly haven't read the post just above your one which discuss this more fully. In British constitutional politics, having the power in principle is not the same as having the power in practice, particularly given that our constitution is based on precedence rather than a written constitution. Perhaps you should actually read the thread more fully before making assumptions on people's ignorance...or indeed their stance on intervention.

They knew not to use CW and they've stuck two fingers and a blatant "come at me bro" up at that.

Seriously do you think it bothers me one iota what you think of my social life? You give yourself too much credit and not for the first time. Back to the topic now ladies.

Despite the failings of the past, I'm going to trust intelligence indications and conclusions.

He's counting on his mates stepping in.

A poor miscalculation on his behalf - because they won't do a thing.
