Hi guys and gals,

I've got a Crucial CT512MX100 SSD drive and an Asus Crosshair VI Hero motherboard. The SSD is the boot drive and I also have a 3Tb and 1Tb 3.5" hard drives. It seems like every few days the system stops seeing one or more disks, always the Crucial SSD and sometimes the 1Tb WD as well. I keep restarting and looking in the BIOS and they're still missing. Sometimes it takes a few restarts for it to rediscover the drives, other times I've had to power off and left overnight and it's fine the next day. I've also had success when changing the SATA cable to a different port, or unplugging both 3.5" drives. The solution isn't consistant.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Jed

Ive had this in the past, it would just bluescreen then reset and say it cant find a boot drive, Crucial SSD would just disappear. I'd have to turn the power off for a good minute and then find the drive in bios and make it the boot drive. It was totally random but one day i worked out it would fall over when Windows was secretly installing an update in the background. Never did solve it BUT when i added another SSD it stopped happening. :O
