System not reading full amount of memory?

So you're running a 64bit OS and have tried everything but the bios and Windows cannot use / see the full 4 or 8GB? My friend had this problem with his 2x4GB modules and Win7 64bit. The solution? Re-seat the CPU. Job done.

Just thought I'd post this here in case anyone else encounters this odd problem

Yeah we laughed it off before but it does make sense! We'd tried everything from upgrading the BIOS, entering the memory settings manually and different modules...
