Unfortunatly my GIGABYTE GA-Z68AP-D3 motherboard has died a death. So it looks like I'm going to have to do a rebuild.

I would like a good rig but not top spec as its a limited budget. I'm keeping my GPU for now which is a gigabyte 570SOC. I also have an alpenfhoen matterhorn cooler but will i need to buy a new one to get the correct mount?

The items I'm looking at so far are;
INTEL CORE I5-6600K 3.9GHZ (https://www.overclockers.co.uk/inte...ocket-lga1151-processor-retail-cp-579-in.html)
GIGABYTE Z170-GAMING K3 INTEL Z170 (SOCKET 1151) DDR4 ATX MOTHERBOARD (https://www.overclockers.co.uk/giga...cket-1151-ddr4-atx-motherboard-mb-541-gi.html)
KINGSTON HYPERX PREDATOR 8GB (2X4GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHZ DUAL CHANNEL KIT (https://www.overclockers.co.uk/king...al-channel-kit-hx432c16pb3k2-8-my-26j-ks.html)

Do people reckon thats a good build or would you suggest something else. Thanks for your help

I'd get the newer KabyLake and Z270 board, and aim for 16GB RAM. But if 8GB is what fits, then 3000MHz is enough and slightly cheaper. The Predator RAM has tall heatsinks and I'm not sure it will fit with your cooler? The cooler mounting should be fine for 1151.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £476.96
(includes shipping: £0.00)

Thanks very much for your help.

Looks good does all that stuff and I would be daft not to go for the 16GB ram I just hope the clearance will be enough for it to fit.

Thanks

The Corsair Vengeance and Team Group Ram will fit under any cooler as it is classed as low profile. Also your current cooler will fit the new motherboard as the mounting holes are the same.
