T-Mobile Flext 25 - can I do better?

My mate is on Flext 25 which gives him £60 credit and he pays £18.75 (£25/month less 25%).

T-Mobile no longer offering this deal. It's now Flext 25 with £80 credit for £25/month... gutted :mad:

Any other equivalent or better deals on other networks?

I'm on flext 25 at the moment and As I havent chosen a phone, I'm getting £12 off my bill every month.

So £80 of credit for £13 is pretty good

Good if you dont need a phone

The contract doesn't have to subsidise the cost of the phone because no phone was taken so only the minutes and texts need to be paid for.

If you don't mind being on a different network then Orange have got some good deals on just now, they're giving an extra 200 minutes and 1000 texts on some of their plans and you can choose a benefit for life. For £30 you could have 650 minutes and 1100 texts. Flext 25 would only give you a maximum of 400 minutes or 800 texts (and obviously a combination of the two) so for £5 extra you're getting a lot more.

Sounds like it.

Think about it, not everyone wants a new phone or needs one and some won't just for the sake of it.

If he never haves one in the 18 months thats £180 he saves which is quite a bit.

Also for that £13 a month he gets £80 credit where as on PAYG he would only get £13.

He is still getting a good deal.

He gets £60 of credit for £18.75 (£25 less 25%).

wasnt the 25% off just a discount on the actual tariff price and not the allowance because the tariff had just launched?

he pays £18.75 for £60 credit = 60/18.75 = 3.20

so every £1 he pays he gets £3.20 worth of credit

you pay £25 for £80 credit = 80/25 =3.20

so every £1 you pay you get £3.20 worth of credit

so therefore the plans are the same value for money, no?

Thats right

Its pretty good if you dont really need a phone. I myself am holding out for a k800i / n73, so until then, its pretty cheap

Other companies do it too, I know o2 do a sim only package. As well as a better deal, the cancellation notice period (for o2) is only one month iirc.
