T-Mobile - Froyo arrives on Desire

Didnt relise my update on the Desire was german till I opened up the answer phone app and its web help was in german, no biggy everything else is fine. Anyone having problems with the youtube app, Its either coming up with video playback error or the search button wont work :(
 
Hi everyone,

We wanted to give you an update on the recently released Android 2.2 software for the HTC Desire and a few issues that have been raised.

We're aware that the update has added a few apps which aren't compatible and can't be uninstalled - we are working on a maintenance patch to resolve this and will be rolling this out in due course.

Some users have been reporting decreased battery life with the update. Although our testing didn't pickup any battery usage issues, if you are seeing increased usage it's worth checking that all the apps you have installed are fully compatible with 2.2. You might also want to check our battery saving tips.

If you're seeing issues with 3rd party applications you have installed not being compatible, it's worth getting in touch with the developer of the app to check if it supports the new features of the Android 2.2 software.

Lastly, some people are reporting that the update is no longer available - this isn't the case and the update is still being rolled out in phases over the next few weeks.

I have a problem since updating to froyo on my Desire, I had 2 email accounts on there BTinterent and Hotmail, since the update my BTinternet account was emptied and any new email doesnt stay in there. It seems to vanish whether I read it or not. I remade the account but the issue is still there. The settings all look ok i.e size limit, duration of messages etc.

Hotmail is still fine. Might try K9 and see!

Gives the 3D gallery from the nexus 1 and it's much faster for me than even the gallery pre-update. Not to mention it looks class!

You'll have to download it on your pc as for some reason the xda forums doesn't like logging in with the desire browser?

I had the same problem with my hotmail account. Go into the mail application, select the account you're having issues with and then:

Setting - Account Settings - follow the promts to confirm your account details.

Once its confirmed everything should work as normal.
