Hi all - just pulled the trigger on a 05 plate Accord CDTI Sport 2.2. Got a bit knocked off, but they wouldn't budge on throwing in a free set of mats!!

Seeing as they wouldn't budge on price for the mats - I'm not going to buy them from the Honda garage - any ideas where I can get some for less than the quoted 50 quid (and not ebay please - i hate the place!!)

Cheers.

You've just spent all that money on a car and they won't give you free mats?

I think I'd be taking my business elsewhere to be honest, mats cost a dealer pennies so it's the least they can chuck in.

You really want genuine Honda mats, as they will have all the right clips etc, and you know the quality..

**** poor state of affairs really. RS4 = £50K...free mats? Not a chance in hell.

I've heard good things about this place... JustMatz.
Although they aren't exactly cheaper than £50 if you tick the boxes...

Mmm love the facelift Accord's.

Mind if i ask how much the car was and how many miles? :)

Haggled down to £14,400 and under 12,000 miles. Could have either got tax or the mats, I went with tax.

EDIT: Strangest thing was, I went out that morning with the intention of getting a petrol car, was looking at the Civic Type R.

And it'll take me an an age to deside which ones I want! Thanks for the link though, they do look great mats if you have something specific in mind, design-wise.

I agree, get the maufacturers, just from a different dealer. I've always found they are the best quality for the money and its not often you can say that about main dealer stuff

And I 'spose if they're anything like OEM VW mats - they'll stick to the carpet like poo to a blanket.

Sounds like you're all right - I'll get some from a different dealer if I have time.

Sorry, should have been clearer...I meant the "proper" RS4 mats, they do not come as standard.

Whats the difference between proper RS4 mats and the standard carpet mats that come in them?

Cheers, just comparing the price we go ours for :)

Well we got a Pre Reg car from the main honda dealer 4 months ago its the 2.2 CDTI Sport in silver, 05 plate, 5 miles on the clock, got mats / 12 months tax - 15k we got them down to.

Wow - that was a demon deal! And you got mats too ;-) My downfall was that I wasn't too sure of what I wanted when I went in (should have done my research):

a) I was actually off to the BMW dealers - happened to pass the Honda garage

b) got sidetracked to a Civic Type R

c) liked the alloys on the Accord!

d) demanded a test drive of the accord and the civic

e) as it's for business use, decided the Type R wasn't quite the right image I wanted to portray

f) needed to buy a car that day - newly self employed and urgently needed some wheels.

I am so shallow! My deal wasn't anywhere near as good as yours, but I am still pretty chuffed as petrol 2.0 Accords are going for £14,000 on an 05 plate within about 50 miles of here, many of which are 18-30,000 milers.

Still enjoying yours I hope? This is my first Honda so we'll see how I go on.

A choice of silver or black piping and an RS4 badge. Pretty exciting stuff.
